All my city clothes were peeled off, stepped out of, abandoned and dropped in snail heaps on the bedroom floor as I morphed back into miss c. I will pick them all up later I promise but I was late for chores and everyone was calling. They knew they could use my guilt about being away to get more hay.
But not everything is always pretty on the farmy. I was away for 24 hours and what do I find when I get home? Someone is not sharing.
Of course as I approached this milling bunch, I thought to myself; oh look, how sweet. Kupa and the kittens are sharing.
What a lovely bunch of animals living on the farmy with me.
Then LouLou and Good Authority got just a teensy bit too close to their own cat treats and BAM! Notice that the cats do not leave the table.
Peacock Peck to the Head. Poor Author. I sent Kupa off and with a good deal of nonchalance, and in his own time, thank you very much, he condescended to leave the cats table and without a moment wasted the kittens were back to scoffing their food.

Usually they get chopped up meat so this dry nasty dried fast food is a treat.
Kupa is unrepentant. Peacocks seldom are.
Early to bed for me last night.
And early to rise this morning. Good morning. It is 11F (-11.5C) degrees outside, clear and still. The house is freezing, I guess the fires went out while I was away, we are very low on firewood now and John was out in the woods gathering more dead wood from old trees. It takes a while to warm it all back up. I am wearing all my farm clothes one on top of the other.
But thats OK. We are on the far side of winter now.
Daisy was perfectly well behaved for John when he milked her yesterday so that was a relief and when it warms up today I shall take Sheila out for a walk. She is a one woman pig that one. There are noticeable changes in Mama’s udder too which is interesting and a bit early! But you know what she is like! She likes to tease.
I will be playing catch-up and feasting on a fridge full of deliciousness for days!
Have a lovely day.

Cat had it coming!
A happy Sunday and everyone is glad you are back on The Farmy V.
Very cool cats!
There’s always one who will misbehave while the mama’s gone.
I cannot imagine how chilly your house must be at that outdoor air temp and no wood in the stove. Brrrrr.
It is all warmed back up now, thank goodness! c
I’m so thankful we are on the downside of winter, also! Although is will be many more weeks until the wood stove is let die to ashes. Your cats have patience…I don’t know if I would with that big peacock beak so close by!

It looks like Author rolled over and played dead! I imagine Kupa’s peck smarts a bit. We used to live in a second-floor apartment in an old house when first married. A few winter mornings we woke to find the boiler quit working during the night. It was so cold. Sorry you have to deal with that, it’s not a good feeling to have to crawl out of bed and put on every item of clothing in sight.
the bedrooms are not heated here, so i do that every morning anyway, often i grab my clothes and scuttle out to the fire and dress out there! But all is well, nice and warm now! c
I’d like to see Kupa try and take on one of our cats…
Bet you were pleased to have your camera in your pocket.
Love Leanne
Those are brave and bold kittens to put up with peacock pecks. Many would have run away and whimpered.
Cheeky Peacock.
Welcome back to the Farmy! I’m glad your big city trip was fun and adventurous….
Ouch, that peck hurt… Author & Lou Lou I suspect knew Miss C would give Kupa his marching orders and weren’t going to give up any ground in the meantime. Think warm thoughts and drink lots of tea until the wood is in and the house is warm.
We ARE on the far side of winter, thank goodness. I’m going to keep chanting that to myself as I stuff six sets of legs into snowpants and six sets of mittens and usher them, all waddling like snowmen, down to pick up our big kids at the bus stop. Soon we will just need our jackets, and soon after, not even that. Soon! Welcome home, c. 🙂
All that dressing takes some time too and then the washing, so many layers to wash!!! c
Those are AMAZING photographs. Look at you, catching them in action!
Kupa seems to be upset about something. Maybe he’s missing a feather and thinks the kittens were involved?
Good to see that the Farmy survived your absence and, especially, that Daisy was a good girl for John. Have a good night! DInner’s ready!
Bet Kupa thought the unaccustomed dry food was for him and the kitties were muscling in on HIS territory? And, oh would so like to see the inside of that full fridge of yours; what exactly did tempt in the big city 🙂 ?
