I accidently took a photo of my foot

You see it was hot.  Lovely-delicious-hot not dreadful-out-of-control hot. 96F (35C).

I gave the pigs a fan. Thank you Missie! gardening-010

Sheila thought it was just lovely but would not share so Charlotte went to stand in her water container.

Smug pig. I swear if that pig stood up on her hind legs she would be taller than me. Their outdoor pig palace has been modified. Today I will finish installing their new gate so they will be able to wander at will from the barn to their summer palace  and back during the middle of the day when it is hottest.  It will be interesting to see where they spend most of their time, outside in the mud puddle or inside in the straw.

Blue spent some time with the hose yesterday. Trying to ‘Tame’ it.gardening-023

And I weeded, I have weed-fed chickens, every basket full is lugged out to the chook house. This is why the yolks are so orange.

Then quite by mistake, it being Sunday and all, I lay down in the hammock, just for a few minutes you understand, and accidently took a photo of my foot.gardening-005

And that was the last thing I saw for a little while.

Good morning.

I hope you all have a lovely day!

love your friend, celi

  1. Good, very good: about you being in the hammock awhile Missy 🙂 ! Blue managed meditation without the hammock it seems! Lovely to see the farmy in such peace . . . but how close do the tornadoes get to you during the season? We have had lots of pretty scary pictures on the news tonight about them in the Mid-West and Iowa certianly was mentioned, as well as Oklahoma etc. I know May is a bad time for such: I was in the US quite a few times then and had our planes rerouted further north to avoid the storm fronts. . . .

    • I never watch the TV or check for news on the computer, so I have no idea where the tornadoes have been, not close to here though, I would have heard about that, that’s not to say that they won’t, they have come pretty close, but so far so good… we are not in that extreme tornado belt, to get one out here is ..well.. Iess likely, but not unheard of c

  2. And a nice foot it is too!! Here it is still raining buckets, and I have tried to weed as much as I can in the few minutes it stops. So my picture of my foot would have a wellie on it LOL By the way – I have posted some pictures of my little cottage on my FB page if you have time to go have a look.

    • well Missy said – give her a fan and I always do as i am told, though i may have to look for a proper stock fan at some point! they are back under the trees this morning.. c

  3. I had to take a peek at the radar late yesterday, both to check on my mother (in Oklahoma) and to see if the line extended up to you. Couldn’t help but notice the temperatures at the time were still in the mid-90’s, and wince…
Starting to think I should set up a run for the grandkids like the one you have for the piggies, then just let ’em go. 😉

    • What an idea! Have you thought of a fenced in area with the sandpit and so forth. Fencing is expensive though, but peace of mind is a wonderful thing.. c

  4. what a funny happy cheerful life you do lead…no wonder you need to relax…love the bigtoe and little pinkies..bless you and your feet

  5. well, that is literally putting your feet up! teddy sure loves her fan. she almost crawls inside it she gets so close! it is already too hot for me and we still have no rain.

  6. Glad your girls like their fan. I know some people also set up a water mister for their pigs but our water is too scarce here to do that. And those are NOT weeds! I see dandelion greens in there. Lucky chooks. 🙂 Have a great day, Celi!

  7. As I was viewing these images, I thought, how incredible that each day you can come up with new photos to show us a different perspective of your life and of the farm. Geographically, you are limited; subject wise not so much. Yet, your watchful eye (even when weary) and your creativity produce these wonderful images which, when combined with your equally creative words, present these most lovely snippets of your daily life. Thank you for this gift you bestow upon us each morning.

    • Morning Audrey, this is exactly the challenge i set myself, to come up with something new every day and ONLY from my own property (unless we travel of course and i still intend to do the local town for you) the actual images though seem to present themselves.. so I never have to sit on the step and sigh and say what shall I photograph today, that has never happened. luck really and such a variety of subjects… have a lovely day honey.. c

  8. It was not warm yesterday, in fact we put the heat on in the cottage while we painted! We took our hammock out too yesterday. Hope you have a lovely day too C.

  9. Sheila gives new meaning to “hogging the fan.” Those girls are so funny. Blue is a handsome lad. I’m reading in my phone this morning, so I scrolled through the pictures first. I was trying to figure out what surrounded your foot. LOL Have never seen them up in the air. Good for you.

  10. I think I would complain at 90 degrees F (heat makes my heart misbehave) but I’m complaining even more at single figures Celsius today. We went to a car boot sale/vide grenier (empty loft) this morning and I was really sorry for the stallholders rubbing their hands and shivering. I was sorry for myself too, as I’d been expecting a warmish day and only had on three layers.

I heartily approve of absent-minded naps in hammocks! Hope the tornados blow themselves out quickly. Have a good day, love ViVx

  11. Fabulous! So happy you got your snooze in. That foot is going to become famous 🙂 I also love the shot of Sheila and the fan!! And I can just imagine Blue trying to tame the water hose. Too cute!

Thanks for stopping by my site as well, Celi. You are always so encouraging…hoping I can continue to write a bit more these days. Have a lovely day!!
