The horses were all booked out, so we postponed and went for another punishing walk..
as high as we could bear, which was not very much higher in the scheme of things, to a little reservoir lake.
Then we had a picnic with crostini and olive tapanade and pan fried local steak cut into paper thin slices washed down with local beer. (I am so glad we rented a room with a kitchen.)
Today the horses are booked, the ride to the ranch is arranged and the camera is all charged up.
Not this ride though. The big black dog is not giving up his seat for anyone.
Good morning. Have a lovely day.

Stunning opening photo, Celi. Living where we do, seeing anything taller than a mole hill is a wonderful thing. Seeing legit mountains is something beyond awesome. Glad you’re having such a great time. 🙂
Thanks for satisfying my need to see the mountains again. Can you ‘post’ the smell of the mountain air?
Have fun!
Oh that delicious piney scent just begs us to take deep breaths.. gorgeous.. c
That thin air makes sharp clear pictures. The lake refection is heavenly.
Cute shoes and SOCKS!

Fab photos, Dearie…I can smell that mountain air!
The mountain-lake image is stunning – a wonderful scenic shot for a momento of your trip. The clear water ripples just invite barefeet but I’m guessing the water would be chilly.
Good morning Celi; glad you are getting to go have fun. mike
Beautiful photos!
Hmm! You are teasing us!! What’s this with all the ‘feet’ photos? Bet they are yours 😉 ! Seriously beautiful picture of the lake tho’ – reminds me of the mirror images one could get in the Norwegian fjordland. . . Wish you could have had a few more days of sleeping in and doing very little . . . hope there is a next time in the foreseeable future 🙂 !
LOVE the first photo esp. the reflections!
Oh, I love these photos. And it’s great having a kitchen so that you don’t have to go out to eat at every meal and can take advantage of local favorites “prepared to order.”
So serene and simple. You must be drinking it in!
Just fantastic – envious – very.
Beautiful pics Celi. I have just found your blog and enjoying it.
welcome welcome, I love it when new readers show themselves so i can pop over and learn all about you too.. I am so glad you found me .. celi
Everything looks so crisp and clean up there. If I were that dog, I wouldn’t give up that seat, either.
