A horse is a horse – of course, of course …

The horse riding was as torturous as expected, due to lack of padding between my bony bottom and the saddle. But the horses were fat and happy.

We rode for two hours  through dense and stunning Canadian forest.

We walked single file one horse following the other at a rolling sailor’s plod, the saddles were great to look at but deeply uncomfortable.

So the only time for photos was when we had returned and were blessedly released from the wretched things.

Trust me to find a blue horse.  Like my new hat?

Today we are off on another mission to find lakes and things and tomorrow morning we will be flying out.

So no blog tomorrow or the next day. Unless I see something even more spectacular.

Here is something spectacular.

My  son surfing in a river.

This is what happens when you try to take the beach out of the boy.

Good morning.

I will see you on The Farmy’s Sunday.  What a relief it will be to be back home.  Today and tomorrow are jam packed. So we are now going into a wee blogging break. Unless, of course, there is breaking news of some kind.

Have a lovely few days.

  1. Glad you’re having such a good time with your boys. A couple of weeks ago Hannah and I were reading about people surfing on the Snake River in Wyoming. Crazy stuff! Have a safe trip home.

  2. It’s good the beach never leaves the boy! Enjoy the next two days, travel and all. Jot down what you need to, as having all those days thoughts in your brain might be uncomfortable and we will see you soon. I’ll bet those piggies have grown a lot!

  3. Oh the horse photos are magnificent… love your hat.. and as for your son surfing on the river? What more could one expect, must be the NZ blood in his veins… loved this post.. continue to have a good time and see you when you get back to the farmy… the dogs and animals must be missing you…

  4. You look quite the part of a cowgirl there Cecilia! (Even if your bottom’s not up to it!) And surfing in a river, well, there’s something you don’t see every day!

  5. I said that you would have a sore btm…never mind it was a great experience….That hat really suits you and will be great on the Farmy. The goats will love it too, given half a chance.

    Have a safe journey home

  6. Ton and Boo will have great fun retrieving that smart new hat 🙂 Godspeed to you and fellow travellers, looking forward to being back on the Farmy. Laura
