They carry them about in their mouths and have races. TonTon knows this about pigs and sticks, so he is always ready.
Boo on the other hand is not invited in for games.
Just as well too. He steals the sticks and runs off.
The men finished lowering the corn curtain on my third and fourth sides yesterday.
Many of my fence posts (that are recycled telegraph poles) have strange things sitting on top of them. One day I must show you.
I have been very busy the last few days with getting the farm ready for Our John and the Lady down the Road to take over. She can even see my house from her house now that the corn is down.
Things really are quite easy now. I have opened three gates so that Mama and her flock and Queenie and Daisy can wander about at will and put themselves in and out of the barn should it rain. Hairy has been led reluctantly into the rat house paddock, he sleeps down in the root cellar if the weather turns nasty and Sheila will remain in her own field while I am away with her barn sunporch door open.
TonTon will go to stay with The Matriarch But Boo and The Big Dog will stay on the farm with their visitors.
The daily view with my city lens. Even Camera House gets to wear a different look when we visit the city. But I do not leave until tomorrow. So there is time yet.
For my little surprise while I am away I have asked a few of the rural commentors, who do not have blogs, to be guest bloggers. So wee can get to know them better. It has been fun loading their pages and pictures for you. You are in for a real treat.
I will pop in tomorrow morning though, so you are right up to date before I leave. There will be plenty of people and dogs out here on the farm while I am gone, so if there is any news I will let you know.
Naturally, today I am going to take myself out to Route 66 to have my hair done at the hairdressers. Maybe Camera House will come as well, not to document the taming of my mop but the little town of Pontiac in Route 66 is very sweet.
Have a lovely day.
Love your friend,
celi
ps. I see that this is my 800th post. 800 pages about the farmy. Wow. I am pleased with that. And so grateful to have you all along for the ride.

Well done, Celi, on your blogging 800. And very happy travels to you, my dear!

So much excitement: Hooray for 800 posts (that dog and kitty pix is priceless…really really book illustration/poster great)! Hooray for a trip (safe travels)! corn curtain (best phrase every), fence post treasures (we we always told to move stuff out of the furrows/plowed land and put over by the fence..our posts were thinner cedar one with stuff at their feet) and pigs with sticks!
So much fun. Can’t wait to see the celebrity guests.
Congratulations on your 800th post, celi! That’s really quite impressive!!! I also remember this time last year when you signed up to do Nanowrimo and blew everyone away – not only with completing the goal, but exceeding the 50,000 word count and sharing excerpts of your novel with us!! You are the Queen of Writing 🙂 Happy trails and thank you as well for taking care of us with your guest blog lineup. You really have thought of everything! Now go enjoy!!

I love that you call Pontiac a little town. When I was growing up, a trip to Pontiac was a big deal because it seemed so big to me, compared to the little towns near where your farm is! We would often include a trip to the Pontiac library, where I would check out a big stack of books to last me until our next trip there.
