I thought I wanted to go for a walk, Sheila said, but now I don’t.
The puddles are too deep and I can’t swim, she said. And my feet are cold. Let’s go back home, she said and have our peanut butter treats inside and so we did.
Snow is not always white either, we are in the dark side of the snow.
Though the plonkers don’t mind, they are a good size these pigs. Lovely and shiny.
The peahens are weathering the cold very well so far.
Though they seldom take themselves outside in the cold. There may be a little sun today I hope they will come out into it. Animals and birds need light, we all need good natural light for our health.
How about this for natural light in the West.
And in the East, the moon was rising.
Sometimes bold strokes are very faint for all their boldness.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farm

Snow isn’t nearly as pretty a few days into it. I’m with Sheila, inside it is!
When I was a kid we had a word for how your snow looks today. That word was “Snert” which is a hybrid of snow + dirt. = Snert. So many people who live where it never snows think that snow is always clean & white. Maybe in story books, but not in real life.. Snert is much uglier in the city where the cars & buses & diesel belching trucks quickly turn the compacted snow black & grey.
Shelia’s hooves make her look like she is moving about on her tippy-toes in an effort to lift as much of her plumpness out of the despicable slush as possible. She looks like she would love to inhale some helium and move about the barnyard floating a few inches above the ground. Her distaste for the outdoor conditions is evident in her body language. Hard to believe she weighs 600 pounds. Her daintiness belies her girth.
The photo of the sunset is absolutely gorgeous, especially the way even the ground comes alive with all the reflections of the fiery sky in the puddles. Isn’t it interesting how different the colors and of the sky and the values of color & light look so different depending on what part of the Country you live in?
Boo & Marmalade. The perfect picture of sweetness and the perfect image to have in my head as I head off to bed. I hope tomorrow stays warm & that the sun comes out for a while so everyone will come out of the barn and catch some much needed rays & air their feathers..
Good morning Celi! You too, have a nice, sunny day 🙂
I think Shiela is indicating NO, without any Thank You.
The daylight dose seems as though it could certainly do with an increase in the daily dose
Sheila is undoubtedly endowed with intelligence as well as heft! I love your photos of all the healthy animals and especially the one of Boo and Marmalade.
I agree with Linda such pretty shots!
