I thought I wanted to go for a walk, Sheila said, but now I don’t.
The puddles are too deep and I can’t swim, she said. And my feet are cold. Let’s go back home, she said and have our peanut butter treats inside and so we did.
Snow is not always white either, we are in the dark side of the snow.
Though the plonkers don’t mind, they are a good size these pigs. Lovely and shiny.
The peahens are weathering the cold very well so far.
Though they seldom take themselves outside in the cold. There may be a little sun today I hope they will come out into it. Animals and birds need light, we all need good natural light for our health.
How about this for natural light in the West.
And in the East, the moon was rising.
Sometimes bold strokes are very faint for all their boldness.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farm

Those pigs are no longer cute, just edible 🙂 Sorry. Love the dog and cat 😀
Aren’t they looking good, Rose, they go at the end of January. c
Yes we all need our vitamin D from the sun! Had some here yesterday and opened up the hen house to let it shine in. Should get some more this morning. Feel real bad for all the people who are now suffering with floods where the ice and snow is melting. My back lawn is like walking on a sponge, as the recent rain can’t soak in fast enough due to frozen soil down deeper. Oh well Spring is on its way!! Love the moon shot by the way!
Hugs
Lyn
Yes we have the same problem, frozen earth! Morning Lyn. Hope all your cats are behaving.. c
The plonkers are certainly looking good, how old are they and when do they mature?
They are almost 6 months now, and will go to the abbatoir in a couple of weeks. The family we are growing them for will take them then. c
Kind of like a rent-a-farmer then ?!
that last shot, boo tucking-in marmalade with a bedtime companion….
That’s a splendid sunset, made all the better by the reflections in the puddles. I don’t blame Sheila for having second thoughts about mincing along on her dainty trotters through ice and slush…
Such a dainty little piggy to lift her wee foot out of the snow. Good morning to you all!
Sheila is surprisingly dainty on her trotter toe-points. She makes the plonkers look like miniatures by comparison. Her heft is impressive. I love a curvaceous girl who’s not insecure about herself.
She is definitely a curvaceous girl that is for sure. She is eating more hay than grain now and hopefully will not get any bigger.. c
I have heard that boots can be made for dogs with bad feet…so why cannot Sheila have two pairs of dog boots then her little trotters would not get cold.
Love the pictures of sunset and the moon..well I like them all really but those are special
You are very welcome to crawl around under a 600 pound pig and put boots on her.. I sure won’t though. Laugh!.. c
LOL! Agree with you, C.
We were out taking pictures of the moon rising faintly over sandunes at 1.30 in the afternoon and I know what you mean about bold but faint strokes in the sky. Your piggies look delectable, is that a good word for them? xx
I think that is a perfect word for them. Moon and sand-dunes sounds like a very romantic image. c
Sheila needs some wellingtons or waders – perhaps a one piece oilskin 😉
I can just see her ripping the oilskin up and placing it in neat piles outside her door!! Laugh!!.. c
Only when it’s dirty 😉
Hey those piglets are now pigs…quite the size…
The last pic is really cute of the dog and the cat playing. The pigs/hogs were not bad either. 🙂
Okay–I can start my week now since you posted a Boo and Marmalade picture. Thanks! 🙂 The piggies are getting so big and that sunset—oh that sunset. We are supposed to get snow today—I am okay with that as long as it covers up the ugly mushy black stuff that is out there now!!! 🙂
Thus confirming that Sheila is a very smart pig.
These shots are fooling me into thinking spring has arrived. And that is alright. I need to think spring. And thank you for the gift of that glorious sunset photo.
No spring here, though I do have the towels out on the line (I know how you love to do that) and the windows open, we have already reached our high and they say snow may come in later on.. Never mind though, I am happy for the few days to air out the house and get things done outside..
