TonTon, our darling Border Collie is fine. The growth under his chin, big enough to fit in my cupped hand, is a cyst. Possibly the result of a heamotoma or maybe something else, the Doc said. However he has antibiotics for the next ten days in the hopes of it going back down or popping (ick). All will be well.
What do you think Daisy is looking at.
Marcel the Happy. He was out walking about with me while I was working on the barn and Daisy rushed from door to door trying to intercept it. She mooed and called and whispered to him. Her eyes were absolutely fixed on the lamb her ears spinning on her head listening for him.
She sent her long giraffe tongue out to taste him as he danced by.
Then she took to glaring at me as though I was keeping her baby from her. Then every time the lamb baaa-ed. Mama would Baa back from the middle pen..
..and Daisy would bellow. I’m here I’m here. Come out. Don’t listen to those naked sheep. I am here!
I held the lamb up for Daisy to sniff properly so she would see that he was not a calf he was a little sheep but oh no, she licked him all over and nuzzled him, making little gentle grunts in her throat and tried to draw him out of my arms and into hers. She was quite overwhelmed and not a little bit confused.
Time you got a baby of your own Daisy. Soon darling. Soon.
And wee Marcel the Happy lamb just continued on, trotting about with his BooNanny, sniffing at stuff and chewing on sticks and doing what dogs do on a lazy afternoon.
Deeply relieved that TonTon is going to alright.
Like you I was thrilled by all the comments yesterday. Wonderful to see where you hail from. What a great Fellowship you are.
Have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farmy
celi
ps. I am putting a wee syndicate together and we are buying a kunekune gilt. She is gold and black and very small. At the end of this month if all goes well, we will drive across the state to pick her up. Then in the Autumn after I come back from New Zealand we will choose a little boar. And after a while we will breed Kunekune. It seems absolutely right. They are such dear wee NZ pigs. Big Beautiful Sheila will have lots of company and I will sell the piglets as an income to help support the farm. They make marvellous pets and are selling like hotcakes all over the country. It is a step out of my comfort zone to make an investment like this but I feel right about it on many levels.

Great news about Ton Ton. Love Kune Kune babies, they are soooooooo cute and very photogenic.
I have to admit that their photogenicness (is that a word) even as adults is part of their charm for me too! c
Can not wait to see the pics:)
Hip Hip Hooray ! There is so much love on and about the Farmy !
What a relief about Ton Ton. One of my cats gets the occasional abssess as he is very scrappy in spite of being fixed. The odor is indeed icky when they leak/pop, but hydrogen peroxide, heat compresses, and either topical or oral antibiotics always take care of it. I can usually tell when he has one from his lethargic behavior and then I give him a once over and say…Jethro, you silly cat, why can’t you just keep your paws to yourself! 🙂
The precious pictures of Daisy and Marcel made my day! I looked up Kune Kune pigs. They are very cute! Says they are good grass eaters which could definitely be a plus. I hope this new endeavor brings you everything you hope for. It will be fun to watch the gilt grow up and get those double wattles.
It’s very spring-ish here in central Texas today. I will be doing some flower planting during the spring break holiday. Can’t wait to get my hands in the dirt!
Oh C. I was so relieved to read the title this morning and to know that all is well with Ton Ton. In fact, it appears there was much worrying around the world for Ton! Everyone looks so good, healthy and happy on the Farmy or as they say fat and sassy! Yes, please post another link to the Kune Kunes…do they stay in the house with Boo, or out in the barn with Aunty Sheila? 🙂
Aw, another nanny for little Marcel. What a wonderful Farmily you do have. I know Daisy will not be so kind once her own baby is there, but for now, it is sweet. Great news about Ton too. My Gracie has a really bad tummy upset from the antibiotics she was on after her dental appointment. Extremely gassy – and a little stopped up – so we started her on pro-biotics and yogurt for a few days. She is my little sickly girl who has lots of health issues. Her brother George however is like Big Dog…. Just so easy going….
Happy Friday.
A massive sigh of relief all round – and bless Daisy, how lovely!
Like everyone, I am just so happy Our TonTon is a-okay. And darling Daisy bent on giving Marcel a good licking. Just touching. I fully expect when Macel grows up to be a big ram like his daddy, he too will stand at Daisy’s barn door and oversee her milking.
Like everyone, I’m suggesting plenty of rest this weekend, Celi. Youre going to need it–not that you don’t every day for all the work you do!
Such a relief to hear TonTon is going to be fine! He is such a hard worker, such a beautiful. loving dog.
Daisy’s “Momma hormones” are on high alert..LOL! Exciting days ahead…..
I missed on posting yesterday…had to have a little cataract removed (tush) so location-wise, I’m in Illinois just south of you Celi…and guess what? We’re going up to 55 degrees today…a good day for a nice walk!! I actually heard birds twerping (not “twerking”, mind you) this morning……..it’s com’in, yes, spring’s com’in!! 🙂
All of your animals are so loving Celi! You have magic in your smile and gentle caring eyes…they are just like you! 🙂
Daisy you and Boo and Sheila are amazing!!!! I think Mom is too!
So glad that Ton is going to be okay. I was worried….such great news!!!!!
I love that photo of Daisy looking in the barn window!!! LOL Marcel you and Marmalade are lucky little kids!!! So much love!!!
Lots of ice here….uffda…roads aren’t as bad as we expected. The snow is dirty and ugly now…ick!
Sure am hoping that it all melts soon!!!! Can’t wait to see more babies!
Summer is doing well in the photo contest! Thank you for votes if you voted! Thank you Celi for being so nice…I really should have asked you first if it was okay…I appologize for not contacting you first.
I realized too late my faux pas…
Have a great day and everyone take care! Spring please hurry!!! I am suffering from cabin fever!!!! Too many days of -40 below temps…sigh.it is the wind that is the worst of it.
Hugs! Mere
Outstandingly good news! I am more than happy for you! And for Ton-Ton. Now forward to the next excitement…a new calf-then two. A new peacock and a new little pig!!

So pleased with all the upbeat news today, Celi. You are well overdue a long and steady spell of life on an even keel.
Whatever you do, and you do a lot, and you do a lot well, with love and creativity, you have a band of people behind you tooting and shouting joy into the air for success.
Isn’t that the most wonderful thing! c
Excellent news about Ton. One less thing to worry about now. Daisy’s hormones are really kicking in, seems like. An animal’s life revolves around its babies and Daisy knows she is going to give birth soon. Marcel is just too precious! One of our bottle lambs used to follow us everywhere…..when we would sit outside for afternoon coffee she would lay down beside us and wait. Too bad they grow up so quickly. There was a collective sigh of relief world wide today for you and Ton. So many good wishes and thoughts for you and yours.
They do grow fast too and Marcel is really finding his voice now! c
what a delight it is to read your gorgeous full of warm happy animals blog! Cheers!
Good news about Ton, love Daisy’s response to Marcel, enjoyed the image of her long giraffe tongue tasting him………….and when you say “putting a wee syndicate together” are you offering shares in planned piggy?
