Chicks and Kids

One of our very own Fellowship came to visit yesterday with her husband and their daughters.  Deb and her husband are working towards having their own farmy but in the meantime she is growing her own pig out here in my barn (Number Three) and soon she will have some meat chickens underway (they come in a week or so – I must check my Sheila Calendar). Good clean food is important to this family. So they fit right in.

One perfect moment.

Lili was dogged everywhere she went by dogs, they adored her, even when she forgot herself and played with a pig. At one point Ton was observed laid out on the floor with his head in her lap.

And Naomi the youngest just played all day. Glorious.

There is a very special place in my heart for children who love to live. These are two such children.

I hope you all have a lovely day.

Your friend on the farmy

  1. We had such an awesome time at the farmy!! This morning we had scrambled eggs using the eggs the girls collected and toast made from my homemade bread with the butter we churned yesterday. So delicious!!!!!

The girls talked about the farm much of the way home yesterday and both asked when we could go back. Maybe next time we could be there for milking and help more with the chores. Such a great learning experience for all of us.

  2. With chicks in small hands and kids in the fields, the farmy never looked better, Celi. Hope you’re having a wonderful Mother’s Day.

  3. What a couple of happy kids! Imagine their excitement when they get their own farmy. How sweet of you to help their family along the way.

  4. Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day, Celi! I love and echo Emily Summer’s ‘Kids being kids. A novel idea these days’!!! Amen to that 🙂 !

  5. Beautiful pictures, especially that last one – a beautiful child, gracious posture and as for the grass – well, you know how I love to see green grass in your farmy. How wonderful that the influence of what you are doing is spreading to others, especially to the young ones.

  6. This post absolutely makes my heart want to burst. SO sweet! What an incredible gift you are to the community, and clearly they return the love. Dearest you! 😀

    • sad isn’t it, but excellent that you can document the old buildings, I need to do more of that here but they are all built with wood and most are gone, It has to turn, it has to, big farming cannot be sustained, the very earthy will rebel i think and then like pioneers we will all start over again, rediscovering how to farm all over again too.
