Yes I know that technically they are called cock fights but I think that is rude! These two have been fighting for days because they keeping calling time out and taking breaks.

But oh my they look like they have been in the wars.
Poppy managed to stay in her own field for a full day yesterday.
I have no idea what any of these little chicks are. They could not fill my order with what I wanted so very kindly chose (with my permission) from a few chicks knows for hardiness in extreme temps. The list was taped to the box and I disposed of the box without realising. So they are mystery chooks.
The Lady Vet comes today
and these two bull calves will officially become steers. And Daisy’s Bobby will have his horns seen to .. he has already jabbed me with those little horns and they hurt!. Plus she is going to check Daisy over.
I hope you all have a lovely day.
I am at that stage where I hate everything I have written for the book.
Hopefully today will be better. Sometimes we just have to trust ourselves. No that is not specific enough. I have to trust myself and the process.

Shoo, you are up early this morning 🙂 Will Marcel be included in today’s operation(s)? Poor Queenie still feeding that brute 🙂 Enjoy your Sunday on the Farmy. Laura
Marcel was attended to when he was 6 days old. So he will be a horrified looker oner-er.. c
Trust your writing! It’s why we’re all here, apart from the photos, of course. Another lovely day on the Farmy. I feel a tiny bit sorry for all the boys, who will be walking around bowlegged for a day or two…
Don’t hate that you’ve written. Let it sit for a day or two…then you’ll have clarity on it and will be kind to yourself even when critical. x
I agree with The Daily Cure….don’t rewrite….let it sit. We are always hardest on ourselves. I bet it is just fine…close your eyes and let the writing be.

Celi, Write from your heart and it will come through on the page. Just think, you write that way everyday on this blog and have we run away? No. We keep coming back for more. So too with the book, I see it as being a great success. Relax and let your fingers do the work!
The writing will be wonderful Celi! So sorry I wasn’t able to contribute. So much to do around here in the springtime, as you know. And writing well doesn’t come so easy for me. Just love how Marcel is growing! And am curious as to how the Vet will castrate the boys. Do fill us in on that! Have a fabulous Sunday! xo
The steers will have a a rubber ring attached, just like the lambs, but evidently it is better to wait to make sure everything has dropped. Otherwise you may leave a testicle behind and end up with no gates… c
So interesting! And no pain, right? Wish we could do that with the boy piglets!
I think it is better to be a mystery chock than a rooster!
I think that you will have to decide the winner in your rooster fight.
my guess is your chickens are americana, guessing from leg color, and barred rock
There are three different kinds ron, do you know what the white ones are? I will post a shot tomorrow.. c
That fighting pair would make excellent cock-a-leekie soup!

I hate dehorning …. that’s one reason why I love Polled Herefords! Your book will be delightful. Just breathe (and make the coffee). 😉
Yes this is another of the reasons i love my Queenie! c
Celi, I have a strange suspicion that everything you have have written thus far is fabulous but you are your own world’ worst critic. Tomorrow hopefully you can look at your writings with a new and refreshed point of view. I love your new look of your template. Take Care, BAM
Mystery chooks..well thats a new one…what a surprise it will be.
now I am no writer but I think that Mr Shakespeare and Lord Byron had a few colleywobbles when they were doing their bit of writing. So have faith , there is nothing wrong with what you have eritten..it is only nerves…sort of like fighting cockerels but in your tum
You can DO this, Ce! The writing will be perfect….it always is, in my humble opinion.
Ms Ceci ~ I think you better separate them boys! Too much fightin’ around is no good example!! Or put ’em guard at nite for the mink boys!!
My poor little Bobby boys! I always felt sorry for them when I was a Kid!

I understand the up and downs of writing. I do not like what I’ve written for my book right now, but after a week of vacation I feel a new start to the book – again. I will persevere!! Sit on it for a bit Celi, and decide after some thought what to do or what to change. Don’t stress and worry. You will get it just right!
Alas, I guess my brown chicks will be mystery chooks too. They are sweet little brown girls who will give us lovely brown eggs. I guess I don’t need to know anything about their background. My goodness, I’m glad people haven’t inquired about my background and roots before they accepted me as a friend or employee!! Ha ha!
My deadline is tomorrow, and I think that in my sleep I may have solved the problem.. so onwards and upwards.. c
