storm threatening

The sky is getting darker as I write. The winds are howling hurling the humid air about. Threatening to rain on my hay for the next 24 hours.  I have just come in from chores for a quick breakfast. The baler man is almost here on his way to another field and then I am going to work to get all the hay in the barn before the weather gets it. It is only just ready to bale but I am not having it rained on. Salting and loose stacking will fill my day. I will let you know later how many bales. It is beautiful hay!aaa111-001

So no worries, I have some work ahead of me. Plus my writing is due today. Plus I HAVE to move the broiler chicks to the stock trailer they are way too big for their brooder now.  I must do that today.. and did I mention that my deadline is HERE.  The work is ready but there are just  few things…. … I know I know.. I hear you darlinks.

I will be back tomorrow!

Love c

  1. Oh the worries sometimes! I wish I was there to help you with the hay… I used to love putting up hay as a young girl. One thing at a time, Sweetie. Don’t stress… it’s just not worth the trouble.

  2. Busy here too. Gardens planted, flower gardens planted, 200 acres of soybeans to left to seed, mowing mowing mowing!!! All this rain is making everything grow at high speed! Doing well at obedience training for Summer! Have to get my three hazelnut trees in soon too. So much to do on a farm!!! I hear ya Celi! Hope you get your haying down and stacked out of the rain. Moldy hay is not good. Nope…not good at all. Okay we have had enough rain for a while eh? 🙂 Now in July we will need it!!! You know how that goes! 😉 Take care and anyone out there who has rain dancing for our farm friends in TX and Cali I hope it all goes your way! Ta ta!

  3. Oh I love your blog- so beautifully done- good luck with the hay and stay dry! Send your rain our way- we could use it uphere in the Northern California mountains! Cheers!

  4. Good luck on the weather! Last year was just dreadful for haying in my neck of the woods. Hoping for much better this year.

  5. Surely with all the positive thoughts coming your way the wind and rain won’t have dared to ruin the cut. You’ll have your beautiful home grown hay. The chooks can wait just one more day…

  6. Thinking what you listed is probably just the highlights on a daily evolving list, I found myself taking deep breaths, I think on your behalf. I hope all went well.
