Bobby gets the Boot

We streamed along yesterday.  At first it was so hot we were pouring back the water. Everyone on the farm that is, not just me.the-boot-035

I have to say you were absolutely right, my days are so much better with someone out here to help with the heavy stuff and bounce ideas off. The Farm Stay program has got off to a great start with Kim.

The car boot hay feeder (‘trunk’ in american) was very popular yesterday.  I mean who wants to sit under a cool shady tree when you can sit in the car! First the Bobby got the Boot. 111ds

Bunch of copy cats!

Kim and I hauled the ark out to the field, then she repaired it and  then we filled it with chickens.gone-003

Then of course the storms came in. So I put up their storm walls and they were fine. gone-036

Right. I must away and prepare Tima for her soiree at the local library. I have no idea at all about what is going to happen. ‘Bull in a China Shop’ springs to mind. However I will be taking you along in Camera House.  It could be the start of a new career for Timatanga Moana or Not, we will see.

Poppy has offered to come too. No thank you sweetie. Though we could show everyone her trick of throwing herself on my feet so I cannot get way!gone-012

I hope you all have a lovely day.

We are having a busy one.

Love love

  1. Those chooks should fatten up nicely on that lovely grass. Hey Kim, don’t set the bar too high for the rest of us aspiring visitors, also hoping to get a face to the name soon 🙂
Miss C I have replied to your email. Laura

    • Not to worry on the setting of the bar, Laura. I am very much enjoying myself. I want to learn as much as I can while I am here. 🙂 Then, I can return to my slovenly ways back at home. The pigs all treated me to shin bumps today. Doesn’t hurt, but leaves lovely trails of muck on the shin and knee area. I’m taking that as a sign of greeting and acknowledgement. Otherwise, they are just wiping their wallow muck on me! Plus, I am now a semi-skilled field gate climber-over. Cool!

  2. Poppy: go to the bathroom and wash your filfy face!
That boot (trunk) hayfeeder is obviously in the perfect spot.
Hooray: A very kind and patient genius at my ISP sorted me out to connect the new laptop to the wi-fi, so it’s all systems go now.

    Enjoy another lovely day.

  3. Had wondered for a long time about the car in the barnyard! Certainly makes sense to me now!!! 🙂

  4. Poor Poppy! How terrible she must feel to not have received her own invitation from the library. I do hope Tima makes a good impression on everyone so she’s invited to other events in the future.

Tim’s visit to the library reminded me of the local farmer who has a large trailer set up with animals pens. He is regularly invited to events where he parks the trailer and opens it up for everyone to walk thru and visit his animals – sheep, cow, miniature horse, pigs, chicken, rabbits and goats. All babies or miniatures of course, but the kids absolutely love to walk thru and visit the animals. Our local library has a summer program for kids and the farmer will be bringing his animals to visit during the last program this summer. My girls, of course, are very excited to go visit the animals.

Have a wonderful day on the farmy!

  5. Maybe you should try opening the car doors and see if that attracts any attention! 🙂 With all the doors open, maybe there’d be a bit of a cross-breeze they’d enjoy. Of course you’d have to figure out how to keep them from accidentally closing someone in…

Have fun with Tima at the library today. Looking forward to the pictures.

  6. So glad to think of you with an extra pair of hands this week! Your farming adventures have blossomed into such a great community outreach! Calendars … (which are GORGEOUS I have to say); a book; and a farm stay program. Love to see the magic that gets woven into a creative life. Have a great day Celi.
