Marmalade being a nice wee well behaved house cat.
Marmalade being a nice wild don’t -even-think-about-calling-me-down tree cat at the top of a very tall maple. I am not good at judging heights but it is higher than the house. She likes to be high.

This high.
miss c “You get down from there this minute Marmalade or there’ll be trouble.”
Marmalade “Mo! ”
miss c ” Did you just meow Mo to me?
Marmalade” Tess, I mean – Mo!”
miss c “Mo? Does that mean No?”
Marmalade ” It is not mice to make fun of my meow. (pause, as she creeps out a little further – peering down from her tiny high branch) Is it dimmer time?”
Miss c ” Yes, NarniaLade it is dinner time. DINNER! Darlings! Quick Marmie before the dogs get it!”
Needless to say she is just as fast coming down as she is going UP! I hope you all have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farmy,
miss c

Love your dialogue, human to cat.
Yikes, that is high! By the way miss C your ‘forward to next post’ link seems to have fallen off the page? Have a lovely day. Laura
That’s impressive!
Marmie looks more like a lion than a well-behaved house cat. You tell her that lions do NOT climb trees (well, not that high, anyway).
Good grief, Marmalade!! At least it’s good to know that when cats fall from high places they ALWAYS land on their feet…LOL! I love reading about all of her crazy antics! If Boo sees her way up there, he’ll have a heart attack! 🙂
pussy talk is very good..and I am sure that cats understand. I have 3 cats I we have good conversations in me-ow language….mine often get up on to the roof of our house where they often find field mice or barn mice getting a suntan…..only once have we ever had to rescue one…..
Marmalade is very beautiful and that tree is mighty high
My orange kitty gets in the most ridiculous places outdoors. Very recently, he went as high up and as far out on the branches of an oak tree as I had ever seen. He’s chasing cheeky squirrels. They laugh as they leap for one tree to another, leaving him behind (and very high up).
Marmalade is full of piss and vinegar as they say. When we first moved to our current home, the cats had to try out the trees for climbing and cried piteously once they got up there. They came down when they got hungry tho. 🙂
Oh this would make me nervous. I know cats are nimble and all but I hate heights!
She does look like a lion or tiger up inthe leaves. I’m surprised she can climb down.
I keep forgetting to ask you–when it rains hard, do the sheep and cattle all come scurrying into the barn?
No they all stand out in the rain and enjoy it, when the sun is beating down they make for the trees though.. c
You do have a way with animals .
At least she comes down and doesn’t demand tree-room service! (RC is completely locked inside as she scampers immediately to the highest point around and smirks)
It’s nice your animals all can safely go outside and be who they are!
Cats may not always come when called……unless it is dinner time….. or they just feel like it. Ahhhhhh to be a pampered cat!
Brilliant – cats are very clever. When I lived in London just a few minutes walk from the station, my cat used to wait for me at the top of the road and escort me home!
thats a clever cat!.. c
Glad to read that Marmalade knew well enough to come down. So many animals like it in high places. The higher the perch, the better for Lucy. I had a cat whose favorite berth was atop the bathroom door. It wasn’t a problem for me but woe to the unsuspecting guest that tried to close the bathroom door.
