My new helper has arrived. She has quickly learnt how to drive the tractor and is helping clear out the dirty straw in the barn. She has been working on farms all summer and is very adept at picking up new skills. Plus she likes my cooking. Her name is Elise.
Welcome. Elise. And hullo to her Mum too!
Lulu is overwhelmed. Every morning after breakfast if the day is warm and dry.( Though very little is dry.) LuLu will climb up her ladder and have a nap in the remains of the broken tree house far above the madness of halooing dogs. She is very good at climbing up and down ladders. I know a cat should be good at climbing but it always makes me smile to see a cat solemnly and with great determination, climb a ladder into a tree.
And my other arrival was the Proof of the Book. Letters for my Little Sister. It is beautiful. Initially I was too afraid to open it. I sat it in my lap and looked at the cover for a while. For this book to suddenly become an animalte object did not seem possible somehow. As though, if I opened it and laid eyes upon the words the paper pages would disappear in a puff of smoke and witchy laughter. But I have opened it now and I have checked it for any errors in the printing. It looks very good. So I have told the printers to begin.
I must once again thank Melissa Hassard for being such a stalwart companion in our journey collating these letters into a book. I could not have done it without her and her knowledge.
Today is Saturday. After the chores, Elise and I are off into town to buy the last of the materials for the chook house and a hundred or so postage bags for books! WOW. My life feels pretty eclectic right now.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farmy,
celi

Is it OK if I use the Husband’s Paypal account to pay for my copy of the book? We have the same last name so it shouldn’t be hard to work out who the money is from! Of course, to make that happen, he’ll have to remember all his account details… I’m very excited to see how this wonderful book looks!
Yes kate i am sure that will be fine, yours will be after the fact anyway as we will have to work out postage, which will be quite reasonable using our media rate.. c
I feel like I have missed out on so much being away the last while C. Hope all has been well and happy on the farmy.
🙂 Mandy xoxo

is it possible to put a door, about 1/2 inch bigger than your live trap in your chook house remodel?
that way u can dispose easily of any unwelcome visiters,
you can close door during safe times, or put trap in doorway during visiting season
aha!, you are full of good ideas, i shall get my builder boy to do just that, thank you… c
Wonderful that Elise has arrived to assist with your eclectic life. And I can imagine the “OMG, we actually did it!” feeling of holding the book. 🙂

Good morning Celi… thank you for sending a little rain to the south! I am basking in the cooler temps and the earthy smell of moisture on soil this morning. Elise looks very confident on that tractor! I’m so happy you have her to help out and goodness – who wouldn’t love your cooking??
Good news all around!
