Every morning now, early, after John has left for work and before anyone else is awake I walk down the creek path and across the bridge and down the road to let the calves out and see them into their new field.
Yesterday morning the sun came up into a cloud of low fog. The air was heavy with dew.
After we had fed the cats and chickens and pigs, the dogs and I cut through the back paddock so The Old Dog did not follow us and began our morning mile. A mile there and a mile back. Just right for the morning walk. I need to get in shape for the wedding in New Zealand you know!
To my delight the dew had drawn outlines of the spiders tiaras.
The low light behind the cacophony of strung spiders webs turned the ordinary into magic and not only that -when I looked further I realised that the field was covered in webs.
Thousands of them.
Even my path had been blocked off wth webs. What is usuallya 15 minute fast trot was a slow walk with a web stick, carefully un hitching each web and laying it to the side so I could get past.
The dentist was not so bad, three crowns in an hour and once the temporarys are replaced with the permanent crowns in two weeks things will get back to normal and I can chew as often as Daisy does again.

Queenie’s Bobby is back to his normal cheerful bubbly self.
I am very pleased with their new quarters. My neighbour is hot on the trail of a bred Geurnsey who might make a good house cow so I hope to have some good news about that soon. It is hard to find a milk cow. But we are perservering. I would love to have her settled in the barn before I go away in October, but it may not be until I get back. We will have to see.
I hope you all have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farmy,
miss c

Eek! I am petrified of spiders! You are so brave C.
Beautiful pics as always.
🙂 Mandy xo
I’m seeing spiders everywhere also, although our morning mist doesn’t decorate the webs so beautifully as yours in the field. Good morning, c, and happiness upon the farmy.
The webs really were magical !! Who knew that many were that busy!? Glad your teeth and possibly a new soft eyed milk cow might be settled before we leave for NZ . Boss was geurnsey… Delightful breed ! Fingers crossed.
Guernsey cows (and Jersey cows) give the best milk! So creamy. I so hope you get her.
Glad the dentist left your head on LOL.
Oh, if I saw those webs I would have turned and run home, probably screaming. I am not fond of spiders, but their Web making is spectacular. You are brave.
Beautiful spiderweb pictures this morning! I’m thinking of the world wide web which led me to the farmy’s web laiden landscape this morning. There is much to learn from spiders. Now, I’m not saying I would like one to crawl up my leg, but they serve a good purpose and build beautiful houses/tiaras. I’m sure they appreciated your care in repositioning them as you walked past. Good karma in the spidey world could come in handy! Glad your Murder House visit wasn’t too horrible. Have a wonderful day, C.
Good luck with the milk cow 🙂
Three crowns! Oh my, you ARE brave.
The spider webs are beautiful, but I like your porch photo best…
Love the kitty shot. Purrfect. 🙂 And you are so kind to rearrange the spider webs but then that does not surprise me—-it is such a Ce thing to do. 🙂
Dew-laden spider webs are magical. I’ve never seen fields of them before: such numbers! House spiders here are evicted when they get too big; I don’t like them up close and personal. But as a friend pointed out to me, if they had nothing to eat, they wouldn’t be there.. 😀
I have to tell you, there’s a spider who insists on living behind my driver’s side wing mirror. Chloe tells me that he’s been there all summer. As I drive he spins and spins in ever increasing circles, till he finally manages to climb behind the wing mirror again. I can just imagine he comes home every night and tells his children of the great wind storm of 2014, 😀
That is such a funny story.. I wonder has chloe given him a name?
I asked. She said “spider guy” but on reflection she said “Alex Honnold, the best free-style mountain climber”. 😀 So there you go, Alex the spider guy.
that works.. c
The spider photo with the sheep in the background is my favorite, a good photographer sees things that others don’t and just pass by, you see it. I really like spiders my mother referred to them as the cleaners and so there came the respect. There webs are so strong and work well in a pinch if you have a cut, just make sure there is nothing hanging on the web
Have a great day
Robin
Lovely, lovely photos this morning. Thank you Miss C 🙂
Field of webs is amazing … and thank you for taking me to visit Tilly and Minty too. 🙂 Laura
Fat Tilly and Minty!
I imagine our little smiley lambie Marcel is quite a big boy now too. Laura
Big alright and still in love with Boo!
