Dentally Challenged.
That’s me – after spending way too long in a dentist’s chair yesterday getting three permanent crowns in. Which did not stop me selling books though. Even the dentist is buying a copy of ‘Letters’ for his reception room now and his assistants are ordering them too.
Luckily our Jess, the last of the Woofettes, completed her gardening then made butternut soup for dinner. So my dentally challenged mouth could have something tasty for dinner. Because my bark is worse than my bite for the meantime.
Poppy is showing the signs of coming into heat every 21 days. This is very good. I still have to wait until January to breed her though, so she will farrow in the warm end of spring.
And I must get back in touch with Tima the Terrorist’s breeder to find out when her boyfriend is going to be born.
Mr Pink is still peeping about in the hen house. She is never quiet and has no tail feathers at all, which is unfortunate. I hope she gets some more feathers before winter.

And I do hope you all have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farmy,
miss c

This is really dentally challenged. Good lines about hen.
Hoping you feel better!
Crowns are a good thing. I have three also. Having seen the eventual outcome of not saving one’s teeth, I choose the unpleasantness of dental visits. A little soup now is better than soup for the rest of your life. Best to you. X
absolutely agree, and I LOVE to smile. Imagine not being able to smile. have a great day.. c
Poor Celie. I hope the crowns settle down quickly. NO TOFFEES! (Jock’s mantra!). I specially loved the big picture of Tonton. Jock’s no better today, but I’m hoping the antibiotics kick in very soon.
Poor Jock, i have been thinking of him. Hope he is accepting pints and pints of lemon and honey tea. Flush the bug out my Mum used to say.. though i do llike “feeling poorly under the doctor” better! c
Put some curry in that pumpkin soup, get it nice and spicy and you’ll feel a whole lot more cheerful when the endorphins kick in, plus curried pumpkin soup is really lovely
will do!! I had an extra dollop of wasabi with my lunch.. does that count?
should do… Works a treat when you have a stinking cold, too, one of my favourite remedies. Just fire up a good hot curry, and you’ll soon feel better…
Everyone looks happy and healthy. Tima and Poppy looking so innocent…ha..for the moment. Good on you Jess for making soup for Miss C. You’re an excellent woofette. 🙂 I see smoothies in your future, C. I hope you can still drink coffee. Good to get your smile pretty for the upcoming wedding pics and excellent about the books! You’re quite the salesperson.
Happy Friday!
we need to sell more though, I am having nightmares about the next 100 now.
Do not panic! The farmy fans may need to do some posts about the book/project to spread the word…people can’t buy if they don’t know about it (and Christmas is coming up…..)
I have a few free books (donated by my son actually) so if you want to I can send you one to give away? that would be wonderful.
I can do that – planning to contact my library and request they purchase a copy for the branch(just about everyone can do this!)…..their regional library system also has monthly meeting, so if I can get to the person in charge, maybe there’s another option to let people know there’s a great book – and an audience waiting for it….working on ideas….
Ci – you know Roxie’s blog? Touch base with her. (you can link from my blog today…she might have some ideas – might be worth a free copy for her?)
ok thank you!!.. c
I’m hoping my email order and shipping address didn’t go to spam… pls let me know the shipping costs and I will PayPal ASAP 🙂
let me check, but i am fairly sure yours is on the way!..
I think I may have been remiss re something to do with the book – sorry, Ceci but I seem to have lost the plot somewhat! Juliex
There is another book coming, but the time has to be right.. You are pretty busy now.. and maybe Book Number Three will spark something with you. That one will be in a while. c
ooh new boys for Poppy and Tima to look forward to. Just curious has Mr Pink laid an egg yet? Dazzle them all Girl 🙂 Laura
actually no new eggs at all, from any of them, takes a while !.. c
Oh, the expense of three dental crowns. But never fear, I’m sure you’ll see enough copies of your book to pay for them.
PS I actually don’t know what your book is about. Must have missed to talking about it during its creation. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks.
68 women wrote 68 Letters for My Little Sister, telling her about their experiences with menopause. So my sister and I know what to expect, what is normal and what is not. Letters, essays and poems: and every single one is a knock out! I am wrapping the first copy and taking it to my little sister next month.. This is real! c
What an excellent idea for a book. I will recommend it to those who are on the brink of this experience. I sailed through the menopause with no problems but now have a problem with low calcium levels eight-years on, requiring me to take extra Vit D. Not missing the PMTs though.
Wait…BOOK 3!! We haven’t even begun #2 yet. Seems as if Miss Celi has really been plotting and planning. We are now talking series here, and just to think only a few months ago this was such a small, intimate idea. Amazing!
Exciting news about Poppy! I can just see baby piglets running wild in the spring! And Tima too soon afterwards! xo
Boo’s ears slay me!
You always give us plenty to chew on. Great photos today. I look forward to seeing the new smile in due course! I am sure icecream would slip past those new crowns quite nicely. Heal fast!
Ask the dentist for laughing gas the next time you have a marathon session . It worked wonders for me. I always put some ginger in my squash soup, that will help with the healing. Good luck and think of your beautiful smile.
Winter without tail feather sounds dismal indeed. Great pics of all the gals! Everyone looks quite serious and serene today, for some reason. And Ton. He posed beautifully with his stick. So sorry about the dental stuff. Are you through with it now for a while? I do hope so. I’m a mess in the dental chair. Have to have gas just for cleanings. Sensitive teeth. Funny, because for almost everything else I have a very high pain threshold.
no, I think need to go back and have a little more filed off .. poo.. c
Make sure your bite is smooth and even- you have enough to give you headaches!
I hear you, it is not, so i am going to have to go back and see if he can file a bit more off.. sigh
Been there. (Don’t wait – you can damage your other teeth chewing if bite isn’t right….so off you go now…nudge…nudge…)
Any good dentist would have made sure the crowns were level and your bite was correct. Well, after the crowns come the permanent bridges.
If Mr. Pink in a Cochine, he won’t have any tail feathers to speak of, just a puff of them. . Although he seems too small, maybe a bantam?
Even with an excellent dentist, sometimes after you leave a new crown just feels funny anyway – Most dentists here will ask you to come back in after a couple of days for them to double check and touch base. (That day or two gives the mouth/gums time to settle in. Crowns always feel odd at first and patient may not be sure how they are supposed to feel.) They do another “bite this strip” tests…and “again”. Some people just don’t want to bother going back for a second look. But it makes sense.
Good crowns feel just like the original teeth.
Double checking and fine tuning never hurts anything.
Also, I HATE beign crowded, and hovered over and itttle rooms and everything, I had had enough, o i told THEM I would come back after spending the weekend letting them settle. I was ready to run out the door, bib and all..
I just get claustrophobic hearing you talk about it! My mouth needed a bit of time away from them before I knew the crowns were good – just so much fussing and prodding and mouth/gums annoyed by all the poking and pushing…and how do you know – the crown feels alien at first anyway? By that time you just want to be left alone
Definitely better to run in and out then go home and reflect in peace.
(Then you realize you don’t want any opposing teeth cracked or crunched so that you have to get yet another crown. Arrrrrgh..it’s like remembering to wear shoes after a certain age.) (Is being finally grown up mean you want to take care of what you have? giggles)
More Giggles – hope the day and all goes smoothly
he is pretty small.. interesting aabout the tail featheers, that seems to fit, maybe he is just a slow grower?
Had two done about two years back also: hate to tell you they are still ‘foreign bodies’ in my mouth and my very polite and sweet Chinese dentist just blanches when I walk in again – I am certain there is no more to ‘file off’!!!!!
