Glorious SUN

We had sun all day yesterday.  Sun! It is so long since we had a sunny day. So long that we have sat under that tin lid sky.  The sun drew everyone up out of their houses, we were all giggly and I completely lost the kune kune. They wriggled through the fences and were grazing  right at the back of Pats Paddock.  Thrilled to bits with themselves. kune kune

Ton minds them so they were safe and when I called they ran like crazy things all the way back to the barn. marmie-004

Boo of course lined all the kittens up and gave them a lecture on not talking to stangers. Most of them yawned and went to sleep. Naturally Boo was appalled. This was a serious talk.

When Tane finally made it back to the barn he Stood on Tima’s back to make his point. What the point was I am not terribly sure but he sure made it! Tima was deeply unimpressed.

Sheila and Poppy stood and chatted by the work bench as I patched and worked fixing stuff. Not electrical stuff obviously.  But it was so warm that I was able to work outside for most of the day.  I did get the water sorted out at the West barn and all the Rhode Island Reds are installed in their seperate run in the chook house. Once they all know each other I will set them free. But we don’t want any riots. Though for all their size the new  roosters are pretty calm with new chooks.  And the cross between these big roosters and the Rhode Islands are the eggs I want to incubate and hatch. marmie-043

I still have trouble taking shots of Elsie through Daisy’s window. Not Elsie’s fault of course, she is only a cow after all. She tosses her head like a dizzy blonde. You have to watch her.

Good morning. The Son of Neanderthol man is much happier with his trimmed beak. He is such an old bird. Good old fella.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Your friend on the farm,

celi

ps. For the record, all the images you see were taken yesterday on my own little farm, this is one of my promises. Plus if you see an image you want. Steal it. Go on – life is too short. If you want it in a higher resolution email me – I will sed it to you. If you put it on your site, credit me. That is all.  Otherwise just steal it. And laugh!

  1. I was just about to ask about lifting some of the kitten and Boo pictures. Thank you Celi. Tane looks very earnest to get his point across! A sunny day sure makes it easier to go to work whether it be outside or in (chasing down computer issues)

  2. Tane is fabulous, just as much personality as Tima, and clearly no danger of being overwhelmed by his future girlfriend…. His eyelashes are even more outrageous than hers….

  3. Boo’s lecture picture made me laugh out loud so, I took your advice and made it my desktop background. A smile everyday is a good thing. The farmy animals look good. So glad you had sun! Tane is practicing…for something. He is looking great and growing, quickly catching up to Tima. The childhood song of Tane and Tima sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G just ran through my head for some reason. Too soon I know, but wonderful to look forward to. Have a wonderful day, C.

  4. Thanks for the kitten picture. I love all your animals but you know I am such a softie for those kitten pictures —especially with Boo taking charge. Sun is wonderful, isn’ t it? The weatherman is teasing me with warm temps on the horizon.

  5. I, like Kim, am so looking forward to Tima and Tane’s babies!!! I just can’t wait! Our piglets are growing like crazy! We are trying to sell them off before the serious winter sets in. Although I’m insisting to myself we won’t have a serious winter! No harm in hoping!!! All is well here on our farmy too. 🙂

  6. Tima has taught Tane her naughty ways already – it’s a good job Ton Ton is there to look out for them. Elsie looks like pretty cow, as is Queenie and was Daisy 🙂

  7. well i did….i pinched the kitten picture as they are so beautiful and when my computer crashed on Sunday I lost all my pictures of my animals so now I can share yours..thank you so much

  8. Hooray for the sun! 😀 Love the photo of Elsie and C will love the kittens when she wakes up. I didn’t know Son of N had to have his beak trimmed. Is that a thing with roosters? My friend Milla (http://prettysmartgirlart.blogspot.ca) has taken to carrying a broom with her around the chickens to fend off her attack rooster. Crazy! Wonder if she trims his beak?

  9. So we’ve had lovely sunny but cold days but suddenly it is raining hard! Woke me early this morning with its pounding on the windows. But we need it, so no complaints.

  10. The picture of Tane and Tima in the field makes it look like Tane is growing so fast! Maybe it was the perspective, but he seems much larger, relatively speaking, than I thought he was. He’s very handsome. Boo Nanny takes his responsibilities so seriously. Those are lucky kittens. So nice to see everyone doing well. Haven’t seen much of the sheep or Marcel lately, so hope they are well, too. I did miss a day so perhaps I missed seeing them. Enjoy the sun!
