Have to run – we are leaving for the Bantam Swap early so here are yesterdays pics.
What is wrong with those pictures? Naughty opportunistic pigs taking advantage of high winds and broken gates. And combine without fuss. And as they will be ten months in three weeks and are quite big enough, according to my pig lady, I have left well alone.
Terribly windy yesterday.
The chicks are the best off inside with their heated table.

I have put the incubator on the heat up as I hope to find some fertile eggs at the bantam swap.
The winds were so high yesterday that they lifted the chicken shelter and threw it across the field. It was still too windy to move it in the light yesterday so we will replace it later today. I hope there is nothing flattened under there.
Back soon.

Manu doesn’t look too terrified… Just goes to show that nothing comes between a girl and her Swine Swain.
Knowing you, it won’t stop at fertile eggs at the swap!!!

It did though – eggs and honey – just too cold and windy today.. c
Who’s that in the car?
I think that is Egoli? c
The chicks clearly know what is good for them!
Crikey. The power of wind.
The wind is very strong this week.. we will be ragged by the end of it.. c
Manu might enjoy girls of similar stature this time. Glad the enterprise did not make contact with the barn wall. Looking forward to meeting the new miniature donkey tomorrow 🙂 Laura
oh that sucks! we had that happen a month ago. Lost a bunch of our fancy chooks …. ug.
Awful – that is a miserable thing to happen – I still cannot lift mine – the winds are horrific again.. c
Ours is still in the field too! It’s so distorted, it’s difficult to move.
Pigs will be pigs 🙂
I’m picturing chickens in that shelter as it was blown about. I’m picturing the tornado house in Wizard of Oz, but with Chickens.
wow-good thing there weren’t any residents in the chicken shelter! Have a lovely day!
That’s some wind, to flatten the chicken’s home. I too hope there are no squished chicks. Enjoy the Swap.

Take shelter!!! Dumb city girl question: how can you tell if an egg is fertilized?
When there is a rooster present.. they are fertilised. Nothing changes until they are heated up to 100F. c
Oh, goodness!
Linda
I cannot wait to see what goodies you bring home with you!
No goodies i am afraid – it wasn’t as exciting as usual.. c
Crying like a baby over here. I was hoping you’d bring home a Sasquatch or something.
You always make me laugh!
