Inchy

As growing inches a day. Or at least it seems that way. Mollys latest mob of piglets. A small mob but a growing mob. eighteen-017

I need to look back into the journal that is my blog and see how old these fat little girls are now. But I see no reason to wean them yet. Molly is still doing very well and the babies are growing fast and winter is cruising around the corner at speed.  The fatter the better with cold coming and only three of them.

I have to take pictures quickly because most of the time I am in the pen with them they are chewing on me. Piglets love zips, and boots they are very inquisitive and playful.

This is my normal view of them.

Even with only three one is much smaller than the rest. She gets to sleep in the middle. But they are all eating and drinking well.  Doing what they are meant to do.

They are a happy mob. This little litter.

I hope you have a lovely day.

WEATHER: Chance of rain coming. Dammit. I was hoping they would get this cornfield harvested this week. It is way dry and shabby now. But rain means we are still above freezing and that is good for Aunty Del and her phantom calf.

    • They are actually surprisingly calm. Maybe because there are so few – I am still waiting for the first escape – the weather may have something to do with it – impending winter..

  1. I just adore baby pigs…..so round and pink and not totally covered in mud….yet! Have a lovely day!

  2. Hopefully, the smallest will catch up eventually. They are cute, cute, cute! Little nibblers. I’m glad Molly is such a good mom.

  3. Snoops… I believe all of these little critters are a bit inquisitive and investigative. It reminds me of the deer. Oh what I’d give for a nibble on my jacket zipper now. Emma has run off – two weeks ago. I hope she’s enjoying the rut! Those piglets looks so healthy and robust.

      • Ronnie and Spike return every few days, looking rough and smelling of urine (boys being boys I guess!), but Emma has not returned. Hopefully, she is enjoying her first rut, and has found some does to run with. She’s always been a very independent girl. I bet she’s just fine tapping into her wild side.

        • Yes – ,maybe she has found the elusive Daisy out there – you never know.. tapping into your wild side! sounds perfect – lie out there in some leaves for me – c
