Sun Dogs at my Heels.

The Patient had an early appointment this morning.

So I was out even earlier in the morning feeding the cows and pigs and chickens in the dark. The wind had blown gently and very coldly all night. I followed my own footsteps in the snow from last nights chores. A bucket in each hand and the torch clasped under my arm I discovered that the wind had polished my footsteps into shiny ice.

Shiny slippery ice.

I discovered other interesting things.

•Quacker was sleeping on top of the laying boxes. I imagine so she can be close to her chicken friends.

•Jude could not find his food until I shone the torch on to his bowl. Pigs have terrible eye sight.

I made pig bread last night so I could hand feed FreeBee and Wai quickly in the early morning – to ensure they had enough to eat to last them a day in this cold. (-4 this morning). Tima and Jude being the food bullies of the farm.

I make the dough for the pig bread and allow it to rise in the slow cooker then just jam the whole thing into the oven to finish.

It was still very cold this morning so I was delighted to see the sundogs in the hospital carpark when we arrived.

The sun rising in the center. Her guardian dogs on either side.

Isn’t that awesome!

This week is going to be a stretch … so. Hopefully The Patient starts to get some answers from all this testing. I know this is an elephant in the room but not my story to tell. Even though you end up coming along for each ride. I am so grateful to have you.

Take care. Talk soon.

Cecilia

PS 🦋Have a read: ‘Well, Of course The Pig is the Driver.’ It was fun to write and came out in the Sustainable Sunday Letter.

Or 🐞sign up for the evening farm edition of TKG Take Ten.

Over four hundred people are reading and viewing every day which is fantastic. Both here and at TKG Take Ten. I am so honored. If you are able to upgrade (for $5 a month) my writing and the animals would be so grateful. I need only four more paid members to reach 30 paid readers. That would be grand! Thank you so much! 🍑
