FreeBee goes WalkAbout

I think I had an upgrade.

When yesterday I was forced to delete the Jetpack app and reload it, then search everywhere for the password and all those annoying things when all I want to do is write, the reloading brought an upgrade with it.

Dog and pig by old barn door

It is faster. Clearer. Lots more instruction. More intuitive. More stuff. So, sometimes, good things come from annoying things. Jetpack the WordPress app does make my life easier and enables me to post on the go so I am happy to have that sorted.

Did you see the first image? The grass is going green.

FreeBee has shifted. In the night (last night) he took himself through the fields and managed to find his way back up to the barn and into the cow shed side.

I lost him then found him sleeping on the compost heap. (Check out tonight’s TKG Take Ten) I have set up a dining area in the old milking parlour. Do you remember the milking parlour? Those were busy days – I still miss the cream. And ice cream and homemade butter. And labneh. Sigh.

Now I have a pig in the milking room!!

The milking room has a low wall for Him Inside to pop FreeBees food over. It has to be easy or John won’t do it. Running a farm is like chess – every decision has to be examined with the next steps in mind, taking into consideration consequences and wild cards and the other players. Presently I am folding my annual tour (starting in two weeks) into every decision. There are a lot of moving parts (and moving animals) – but at this point I see no problem with FreeBee staying on that side of the barn while I am away.

Good morning.

I don’t mind FreeBee wandering about – it is better he settles where he is most comfortable and it also settles Jude to have him through a big heavy wooden gate that he (Jude) cannot knock down but they can see each other. FreeBee continues to put on weight simply by getting his own meal and eating at his own pace.

Though we do not want fat pet pigs. That leads to health problems.

Have a lovely day!

See you this evening, Tenners! It is Thursday already! How did that happen?!

  1. I hope that update gives you a bit more writing stability.

It’s very green here. I’ts rained so much over the winter that the soil has a green tinge on top. It looks like FreeBee is having a good time!

  2. I love how FreeBee is finding his own way, sorting his life out to suit himself now. The clues were all there and he just needed you to make that first decision that old roommates often do much better with a wave and hello from a distance.

I need to go check Jetpack now that you mention changes. I read from the website but have Jetpack on standby in case something gets kinked up here- which it has before. I will go see if there is any difference for me 🙂

      • I just checked Jetpack. It has changed yes 🙂 I have it on my laptop and the pictures are huge. Of course I love that for all the farmy photos. I may have to read here going forward. This is a lovely experience with animals up close and large 🙂

  3. Jetpack news sounds good as does clever Freebee’s antics! Two happy pigs in the right places and happily sorted for John’s way of feeding and in time for your travels, good all round!

  4. Cute Piggies! I have Jetpack on my phone but find typing long posts on the phone tedious. Great for uploading photos to Media, and answering comments though. WP on my Mac has stopped working properly but I think it is a browser issue as it works fine on my PC at work.

    • I often dictate straight into my phone. Then pop back and edit where my accent was misunderstood. This allows me to write longer copy using the app. Though I seldom write too much. My benchmark is how long my son will read- not long!!
