I have reached the sea. The long gorgeous Kapiti Coast. There is a swell and the coast is wild. Murky. Windy. Whipping waves. Divine.

The wind is down as I write. Early morning. So I will get out there before everyone wakes up. Though I am sure I will have a few little people ( who are not so little anymore) as company.

Kapiti Island. A nature reserve. We can talk about that more another day.

The beach is a 5 minute walk past a little field of sheep –

And over the dunes.

Ok! I hear whispers at my door!

Off we go again!

It all looks so beautiful, especially the beach with the tree and clouds. I could almost see Hairy and Mama on the dunes with the other sheep!
So special to be with your grands!!! ❤️
Beautiful!
I imagine you miss the sea as I miss the prairie. How wonderful to be with your little people. Enjoy.
Kapiti in the rarlymorning and not so little people were company. Perfect! Enjoy the rest of your time here.
Yes! The hush-hush of the waves, and the scents off the thousand mile wind whipping your hair… So satisfying.
Indeed!
Incredible! Such a beautiful post.🦋
Mostly pictures/ the best really. Have a great evening!
It looks & feels familiar but I’ve never been there. Kapiti Island resembles the nature reserve islands at my family’s favourite beach holiday place. Funny how beaches connect us.
Beaches are iconic.
What a beautiful place and such lovely photographs. My kind of place…
So beautiful. It sounds healing and peaceful. I long for the ocean, being a child of the ocean, there is something always pulling me back. It feels almost primal like it is part of me and I feel most at home and settled there.
…darling little people… I’m sure they adore their time with you!!
They do – we cook and pick and eat and read together and run up and down the beach.
Sooo sweet!!
