How was your day yesterday?

I am totally recovered and quite the box of birds. I got tons done yesterday!

I also made a TKG Take Ten yesterday. For My Tenners. Most of whom come from within The Fellowship – and word is spreading slowly. Slowly is the thorough way to build a new project so I am grateful for you and love that you are sharing this with others in your circles.

Thank you for hanging in there as our ambient sound tour stalled in the wild garden. I can’t think of a better place to recover.

But I am recovered. Yesterday morning felt like a light had been turned on and I zoomed through the day. By Friday I will be ready to relocate for a few days to my son’s beach then catch the bus to Hawkes Bay and the beach where my godmother lives.

Out of interest: here are the NZ regulations regarding Covid.

People who test positive for COVID-19 are recommended to isolate for five days and stay home until they have recovered.

We hope everyone follows the guidelines.

In the meantime my travels are developing even further! There was a surprise announcement from my brother. I might even get out to my favourite beach in the world. Early next week. After burying Dad. (Lest I forget the reason for my trip to Hawkes Bay). From Hawkes Bay we will go on a work trip up to Mahia. Which is just around the bay from Mahunga Beach. Wait. Let me find my map and I will show you. This is so exciting – BREAKING NEWS!

Do you see Mahia? My brother is doing a quote there – it will take an hour and then he will go surfing. Apparently the waves are great up the East Coast! We will stay the night. Hopefully get out to Mahunga too (though Mahunga is not a surfing beach) – I am dying to show you.

Until then tomorrow we will be back at the beach in the evening. Maybe the sun will be setting for one of our favourite TKG Take Ten videos!

I will get you a more detailed map for tomorrow.

Today it is raining; hard, mean, cold rain thrown at the windows by a bad tempered wind.

Wellington weather.

Have a lovely day! Anyway!

  1. Excellent news!

I’ve been on the most beautiful allotment today, in Ealing. Very arty, quirky, lots of plants and bees in several spaces.

  2. I’m confused but as long as you know where you are and where you’re going next, it’s all good. What does ‘doing a quote’ mean? Where is Hawkes Bay on the map?

    • Oh i am sorry you were confused! I will make you a more detailed map for tomorrow. He is quoting for a job his business may do in Mahia. Mahia is rugged isolated country – it is a wonderful opportunity.

      • Ah, thanks. I thought perhaps he, too, was a writer and was being asked to read something from his latest book. I’m reasonably well travelled but have not been to NZ yet. Working on it! Grateful that you’ve taken us along all these years.

  3. I was glad to see you the rain here in Wellington this morning. We have needed it sorely. But the sun is shining and it is only now light rainfall which we sturdy Wellingtonians can cope with. I do like Mahia, but I’ve never been to Mahunga. I’m looking forward to seeing the photos of your day there. So pleased that you are over the dreaded Covid. Make sure to wrap up warm me against the wind. I see that the MetService is suggesting four layers of clothes today because it is only 7° here at 10 am.

  4. So easy to tell you are back and at top speed as you can hardly contain yourself and all you have to say about travel 🙂

  5. Well again, wonderful. So pleased to read about your forthcoming new travels. Some friends of mine went to Hawkes Bay(just before the terrible flooding) and LOVED it. My long distance travelling days are over and l regret never getting to New Zealand, but at least l travel there vicariously via your writing. Enjoy the next stage.

  6. so glad you are feeling well and back to yourself again. sounds like the trip is ever-evolving and fluid, and how wonderful is that?

  7. Rain is sent to teach us to be grateful for the sun. I’m so happy to hear you’re feeling better; the last post didn’t sound like you at all.
