I lose Sleep so I can a Read

You too!?

Hah!

We are a pair. 😂

I only have time to read at night. So if it is a good book – I am losing sleep. What’s our next read? What did you just finish? If it is good don’t forget to drop the title into our very own Library!

Chicks are here! All present and correct. But they arrived cold. So they got a ride home sat on the heated car seat!

Three day old chicks

Chicks just look grumpy!

I just checked them at sunrise and they are still doing ok. Even with the coolness of another 50F morning. I have covered their brooder with boards to keep the warmth in but allow a little ventilation.

But not for long. They need lots of air or dampness creeps in. Not drafts. Just air. So I will be taking the lids back off shortly. There is a balance between mollycoddling a chick and encouraging hardiness. And they adapt well as their feathers begin to grow in.

Crazy weather. Some areas of the country have excessive heat and we are unusually cold.

But this is great weather for hay! We should be baling today if all goes well. Maybe late this afternoon – after a cool airy drying day. A breeze would be great!

The turkeys have begun to gobble – like – well – turkeys. I do love their sounds.

Walking in the early evening.

One of my favorite times of the day.

Good morning!

Have a lovely kind of day!
