Thank You

Thank You. Once again you hauled me back from the brink – by 10am.

So thank you –

For yesterday’s outpouring of support and kindness.

I thought I had lost so many of you but you are still here and for this I thank you a thousand times. (They say if you do a thing a thousand times you are an expert – so you get EXPERT THANKS!) So many of you still read my work first thing in the morning, (my mornings will have more words by this time next week), most of you are reading here on WordPress in the weekdays and Substack on the weekends. So I will never fear losing touch with any of you again.

It appears that if you read from the email with no clicks the stats ignore you. And by the way that is perfectly fine. Easier and faster for you. I seldom check stats – the comments are what I judge my work on.

Just to know you are still there is magic.

You are so important to me. We have been through so much together and there is more to come!

Life is like that. And I don’t care what people say, these relationships you and I build through the ether ARE important to our well being. They are real.

Now. We have more than one arm out here in the interwebs. You have more than one way to find me. That feels safer.

If you are unable to comment, and I know that WordPress makes it hard to comment sometimes, then feel free to send me an email.

Let’s not be alone.

Now, after rather a muddly morning; I must away to release the white chickens into the grounds. Then run in to see my mother in law and sort her breakfast. Her minders come three times a week and she has rotating grandchildren (grown) staying overnight with her, so things are much easier in that department.

But. Well. You know.

(The Wine glass (in picture above) is left over from last nights writing. I have not taken to the drink for breakfast yet. Though if there is a bit left in the glass; in the morning I have been known to drain the glass rather than wash good wine down the drain. Ever frugal. 😉).

Bless.

Love, love

Celi

  1. You don’t have to send out your whole post in the email, you can set it to send an exerpt …and leftover wine is perfectly good for cooking 😉

  2. Sweet Ton Ton! Haven’t seen him for awhile. Is Boo slowing down at all? Dolly has arthritis in her hips and wobbles when she gets up. But she still chases squirrels! For a short distance anyways. 🙂

    • Ton is the one who is so slow now he only gets up when instructed. Boo is not up for long long walks anymore. But is still exactly at my heel all day. Poor Dolly – wobbling. Those hips are such a trial.

  3. I helped the priest during folk masses in the late ’60s during college. It was the big boy version of being an altar boy. During clean up after mass, I noticed some leftover wine in the cruet when I picked it up. No one was watching. I drained it into my mouth. I felt something in my mouth that wasn’t wine. I spit it into the sink and saw a big hairy fly. Yuck! I never did that again…without carefully checking first. 🙂

  4. I got distracted and didn’t respond to your email yesterday. Here’s one more hand raised for those who read your emails.

There’s a program that will monitor which of your emails get opened (MailChimp is the one I think). Anyway if WordPress isn’t doing that for you, they should. I guarantee yours is the one email I read in full every morning. Perhaps a meet-up is in order at your County Fair (do you exhibit?). I’d drive the 5 hours for that. 🙂

  5. While in Jamaica several years ago, I was introduced to adding their coffee rum cream to my morning coffee. Needless to say, I brought two bottles back to the USA and on special occasions will add it to my morning coffee.

  6. Glass full or glass empty- that photo of the desk reflected in the morning window is gorgeous! I would hang it on my wall! Also I love that you included the original animal members still on the farm with you in this post. Maybe intended? Perhaps not- but there is significance in this thank you message from all the long-loved crew. We got you Miss C.

  7. I love the picture of your desk. Love seeing Ton! I like the WordPress Jetpack app for reading. It is easy to read, like and comment from my phone. That way if I don’t get time first thing in the morning with trying to get kid to school and me to work on time I can read as soon as I sit.

  8. Thanks for your thoughtful email today, so reassuring. Like Deb l adore that picture, all soft light and gorgeousness. I’d be pretty pleased if l had wine in my glass from the night before, but would doubtless knock it back on finding😊

  9. I so understand — as you well know. But each day when we arise we realize that ‘this day’ is also a gift. So many don’t. And (although,) the chores scream all holler at us, the satisfaction is there. Love your sweet animals. Love you, Celi, we’ve been together for a long, long time–milked cows, saved sheep…love big pigs…we’ve been there.

  10. Good evening to you, c, my long time friend. You are never alone. Ever. Which might not be the best of all worlds, at least not for me, because I need space and silence to keep my head, heart and poetics attached to me. I always read your posts – I don’t always comment unless I have something worth saying. And now I must prepare dinner …

    • I am not alone all the time – I do have my animals. And my internet people. And my family though they are far away. I too like to organize my day at my own pace so it is not necessarily a bad thing! And I love that you are still on your journey with your wonderful words. I still make your roasted potatoes!

  11. I’m just about ready to go off and do my shopping after s bit of wandering around on this beautiful autumn day. So nice to have my vehicle working again.
