For all my American friends – have a lovely Day of Thanks. I am thankful for every day I have here on this magic planet.

It is cold this morning – as is befitting the season.
I have been looking back over some old posts – choosing a few to use for our retrospective posts while I am in the city and I am always happy to see where I have logged the weather and the temperatures.

So I will try to be more diligent about that going forward. For farmers it is all about weather. I pay particular attention to the wind. This determines how I configure the doors to the barn.

Nor’wester today.

Barn eggs. I always float these before I put them in the bowl. But just looking at these we can see they are fresh and from a young hen.

The problem with black cows in this winter light is they all blend into each other. Except for one of those things that does not belong!

This evenings TKG Take Ten is all about watching the big pigs. The gentle giants.

These TAKE TEN videos are all about bringing the sounds of the farm to you. When I am away from the farm I will offer the sounds of me reading to you.
Every Tuesday and Thursday.
Alice in Wonderland, a chapter at a time, begins on Thursday the 5th. At 5pm. Central Time.
Have a lovely day!

Lovely C! I am thankful that you have become a part of my daily life, no matter where you are or will be writing from 🙂
As am I!!
I SO agree with you Deb💕 Thank you SO much Cecilia💖
Ha, ha, ha, same “meadowmice”… loved those hidden picture kid’s books…
Hehehe! Had a good chuckle at ‘one of these things doesn’t belong’. Happy Thanksgiving to the American farmy members.
opps… posted in wrong place, see above…
thanks so much, and you too
Hope your day was great! I was happy having a quiet thanksgiving.
I’m thankful for you, and the farmy, and wherever you decide to take us!
Just over a week to go and I am away again –
I laughed out loud at “one of these things that does not belong.”
Definitely not like the other!
Happy Thanksgiving!
…and Quacker looks so content with her new family.
The ducks were such a success story! Hopefully they do ok in the winter – the others did well for years.
Ducks are perfect farm animals …unless they get beamed up 😱
Indeed.
Happy Thanksgiving! That one thing that doesn’t belong shows just how little those Pop-pops are. Cloudy, breezy and chilly here in north central Indiana. I don’t know if it’s all the cooking smells around town but there’s a huge flock (30-50+) turkey vultures sailing around just above treetop level today and some fancy flying with so many so close together. No one else here even noticed, people don’t seem to look up much. Brat the cat was fascinated watching them.
That is a lot of vultures – do you think there is something dead down under the trees?
