“Welcome to my Long life of Glorious Littleness”

Sometimes I think we worry too much. That our lives are too small and won’t amount to much. When they already have mounted up to quite something. And the weight of my life in gold would be too heavy to carry anyway. If we worry too much we will forget how glorious our little lives are.

I think it is ok to have a lovely little life, with small movements and everyday things.

Just because our lives are little does not make them any less brilliant or colourful or dramatic or worthy.

Nobody knows me but you. I have no books in print or on coffee tables. Or art hanging in galleries, and names in lights.  Though once I almost did.

I have weeds in my dried up garden.  And clothes still hanging on the line from yesterday.  You might have dishes in the sink from last night and problems with leaks, but that does not make you or I any less clever.  Or good.  Or golden.

Sometimes we are just a little cow, with no particular place to go.

Sometimes we confuse toothpicks with cigars.

And only have one or maybe two friends, who we forget to appreciate.

Sometimes a wee pat on the shoulder is all we will feel that day.  Just a little pat.

And then the night time comes and still nothing much has happened, but we are all fed, and we are all warm and we have seen moments of true beauty in our little day, if our eyes are open.  And there is more to come.

I am so glad you are in my glorious little life with me.  Because little is loaded with consequence and reward. Every chook step leads us to another one. Then another step and another. This is why you and I like to walk barefoot. Then we can feel the consequences of our steps.  We can discover the sparkling  jewels in our days. Wake up! No sleeping on your little feet. Our little lives need living. Our little lives are good.

Good morning.   Have a lovely little day!

Welcome to my Long Life of glorious Littleness

Present Day

I took this shot with the timer so you can see how small big the little pigs are.

Things to look forward to:

A bird over the back fence at my daughters house (in the apple tree) in the neighbours yard. Everyone there has their fruit trees shrouded in nets! Now we know why.

Second Son, who is our first stop in New Zealand, is hatching eggs with his kids. I am taking my old candling light with me.

The chicks will be due to hatch while I am there!

Here is YESTERDAY’s narration of Wind in the Willows Chapter SEVEN.

When you pop over don’t forget to leave a LIKE ❤️ this helps other people find my audio books.

Yes we are plural now – Alice and Willows. Yay!

We all love Mole but I think Ratty is stealing my heart.

“This is the place of my song-dream, the place the music played to me,” whispered the Rat, as if in a trance.

Adorable!

Have a lovely Friday/Saturday

Talk soon

    • Yes! They were. Life moves on and it hard not to be sad that we can’t stay in one of those long summer days when all our favorite animals were alive. (Though it was seldom perfect – we just remember it as such. But new stuff is happening! New adventures. Our little lives are still good.

  1. Such a sweet and heartfelt post this morning from long ago. A life that is simple is perfect- full of goodness and wonder and tiny moments of joy. As an animal especially why would you need more than that.

  2. I love this old post. I warms my heart. I remember when I was a teenager knowing I would never achieved greatness in the world. I was ok with that. Thanks for reminding me it’s OK to be satisfied where we stand.

  3. I love this 2012 post. Too often we just get bogged down in the everydayness of our lives and lose track of the fact that these days are our LIVES. We are blessed with one day after another to take actions, big or small, that shape those lives. We need to notice and appreciate our aliveness and not worry or decry the smallness that we too often assign to our days.

  4. Good morning Celi……..what a Great Post this was today. While I am indeed entering the winter of my life, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed most of it, whether large, or small. You are correct in saying that every life matters and makes an imprint on the world. We often forget this, so thanks for the reminder.
