I’m writing over on Substack now, and that’s where this little corner of the world has moved. I’d love you to come with me.
If you subscribe there, you’ll get the same stories, the same news from the farm and gardens and travels- and plenty of photographs – delivered straight to you.

Today’s post is a hard one. We said goodbye to my beloved sheepdog, TonTon. If you’ve known him through the years, you’ll understand the weight of that sentence. The fellowship over there has been turning up with kindness, memories, and quiet words, and it’s meant more than I can say.
Come and join us.
The door is open.
Go HERE to join us in saying goodbye to TonTon. My good dog. Join the Fellowship of the Farmy gathering there.
Lots of love Celi

So sorry to hear of Ton Ton’s demise. I felt like I got to know him all those years ago when I painted his portrait😥.
Christine xx
Christine how wonderful to hear from you! Yes! I still have his portrait on the wall. You got his eyes and soulful look exactly right. John has taken Big Dogs picture down into his den. It is one of his treasures.
How lovely to hear from you. You take care now way out there!
Oh, Gosh! I’ve been with you and Ton-Ton forever. Good-bye sweet friend!!!
Yes! Our dogs have followed us and all our strange carrying on! It was a bittersweet goodbye. I am glad i could have been here for him.
I’m glad for you. Hugs
so sorry to hear about TonTon. I loved the way he would put a stick in his mouth when he was “working”. You gave him a good life and he will be missed.
Hello there Pat. I hope you are well! Thank you for popping in – so sad. He was a good old dog.
I am doing well and I’ve been remiss staying in touch. Life seems to always get in the way and you have a new grandbaby. Congratulations! Say hello to John, miss the Farmyard.
Life goes on. And you are still rocking pn – as am I!! Take care, dear one.
He was waiting for you to come back. I still miss all my boys, 9 of them over my lifetime and now a cat. It hurts when they have to leave but I wouldn’t have wanted to be without sharing their lives. I’ve enjoyed reading about the Farmy and seeing the photos. TonTon was a very good boy and you’ll always have his love.
We gather them in behind us. And so grateful. Lovely to see you over here!
Again C so sorry for your loss, how is John taking it?
Good morning Eunice! John has had a hole in the garden ready for Ton since the fall. He said – the dog had a good run. So I think he is handling it pretty well.
I had to do the same for JT and then she suffered until April Fool’s day that year as the vet I took her to at 13 said she wasn’t ready. I found another vet when her pain drugs ran out. Bastards are among us.
