‘ullo ‘ullo ‘ullo – whats going on ‘ere then?

“Where is the snow then? They said there was snow.  Has someone been fooling about? Why wasn’t my gate opened earlier?”

“What?”

“Say what? What is she on about? The snow melted hours ago. All those sheep do is sleep and shout!”

“OI!  Enough of this loafing about. Back to work the lot o ya! What d’ya think this is. A holdiday Camp?”

Policeman Mama is back on patrol.

See how her belly is curving slightly downwards. I think there are lambies in there.  When she is close to lambing that will be a pronounced belly. I can’t tell for sure yet though. We will know  in a month or so.  Lambs put on the most weight in the last month – six weeks.  But it is good to see her standing on all four legs.  She has such a Roman nose that sheep!!

PS. For those of you who are new,  all the photos for a Farmy page like this, are taken within the day, often within an hour. This is my challenge. This means that these are Current Farmy Affairs.  celi.

  1. I am so glad to see Mama fine… The first photograph is amazing, fascinated me again… In here we don’t have snow too even it was told that this week would have been snowy…. Thank you dear Cecilia, be sure I miss to see them always 🙂 with my love, nia

    • This whole hemisphere is having a short winter this year, we have still only had a few days of real cold.. it is good for the animals, last winter was miserable for them! c

  2. Snow on the ground in the mountains of Colorado but with very, very mild and sunny days there is some melting going on. Thanks for the breaking farm views…….:)

  3. So glad to see Mama up and about, even if only for relatively brief periods. She’ll be back to normal in no time, I’m sure.

Not to contradict you in your own home, but Mama’s nose is clearly more “patrician” than “Roman” in shape.

    • I suddenly realised that maybe you did not know that the shots are not held. .Though I live in terror because I have nothing held up my sleeve for tomorrow!! c

  4. What kind of sheepy is Mama sheep? I saw her twin walking about on a farm nearby. And at what point do you know a sheep is really preggers? When they start using their own wool to knit booties? hehehe t

    • Miss T you are a riot! She is a suffolk. And really I will know for sure when her udder begins to fill with milk. A more experienced shepherd will be able to tell earlier. She is carrying about an inch and a half of wool so it is hard to tell by size. And her babies only start packing on the pounds in the last 4-6 weeks.. c

  5. Yay! I’m so happy to see Mama back on patrol…she looks grand! I’m catching up after being out of town and out of service for a week… hope your holidays have been good, celi and I wish you and all of yours a fabulous, farmy, happy, and healthy New Year!

    • Thank you so much for all those good wishes. Straight back at you honey.. I am glad you took time off, it is good to turn off for a wee while every now and then.. c

    • I don’t know where the snow is, this reminds me of a few winters we had about 10 years ago, when I was still only a visitor. I barely needed a coat on christmas day. Often. When I got a real midwest winter I was shocked! c
