Frozen Fog on the Farmy and a Giveaway Heads-Up!

Yesterday I gave my Old Camera a good talking to about sustainable farming and how every one must pull his weight  and be useful on the farmy.  How we are in a cycle of give and take and cameras have to give, give, give.  I told him that he is an important camera because he carries your eyes in his lens and without his help, all of you, my readers, are blind.  Old Camera has relented and promised to Carry On.

So, yesterday morning the Old Camera and I went out into the  freezing fog. Freezing Fog  is an insidious mist that reaches out its gentle wistful misty fingers and coats everything with ice. It looks so pretty but it carries a brittle  melancholy that is contagious.

So to cheer  Old Camera up I am planning a Giveaway of  a signed mounted 8×10 Print or a package of Postcards.  Chosen by you all from the Kitchen’s Garden Blog.  I am desperately trying to talk Daisy OUT of doing the signing  but you know how she is! Everything is about Daisy!   Because she is the pregnant cow!

So on the day after we reach the 40,000th HIT  I will announce the Giveaway. And on that day you can make a comment either here or on the Facebook page letting me know which pictures you would choose.   I am giving you time to prepare,  because I would love for you to tell me which image you liked the most.

You don’t have to give me numbers and dates. Though that would be very useful.  Just describing a shot and the season, will often lead me to it.  Now I know that you all cannot win. The winners will be randomly chosen from the PomPom Hattie. But every comment will count because I will note and collate the info from your choices for future reference. We might make a calender for 2013.  Plus  of course your choices will help me choose the Postcard Collection.

And Old Camera and I would love to know what images attract you.

I am not sure whether to offer a print or a collection of postcards for a Giveaway. So maybe today you can help me with that decision.

SO: Do NOT choose the images yet.  This will be done when you hit 40,000 clicks.  For now just think about it and help me decide whether to offer a print or a wee collection of old fashioned postcards-the type you can put a stamp on and send.

The choice of image will be hard as you have from July  2011 to make your selection. Keep in mind that not all photos are printable, due to clarity, or size issues.  But that is OK we can sort all that out later.   The good news is that the image on a web page is at half strength, so a printed image will be so much better!

I hope you like this idea because I am feeling excited about it!

We have the fog again this morning but it is not freezing, just damp.  TonTon is grateful.  He hates it when the hairs in his ears gets frozen!

Good morning!

c

PS. Of Course I will send the package anywhere in the world – As long as you have a Mail service!!  c

  1. I love the idea of postcards. If you can’t bear to send them they can also be framed……

I love your misty shots. Maybe you aren’t choosing yet, but they ought to be considered…..

  2. Oooo, postcards, yes. Although a print would be nice…Hard to decide, but my gut says postcards mostly because they offer multiple images and the chance to share you with friends… Choosing only one from so many stunning images would be too hard! Hopefully the postcards would include the link to your blog…Extra-lovely images and beautiful haunting vivid words today. “…gentle wistful misty fingers and coats everything with ice. It looks so pretty but it carries a brittle melancholy that is contagious.” Sigh…

  3. I cast a vote for a collection of postcards also – a bit of beauty to share with others, or to mat and frame, or a little of each. As for today’s photos, I sure do love that old green pick-up in the fog. You and Old Camera do very nice work together.

  4. Good Morning dear Cecilia, I loved this idea, Postcards! Sounds so exciting… There are so many beautiful shots of yours… and I love them all. Thank you, have a nice and enjoyable weekend, with my love for you all, nia
