Multi tasking would be better as a monotask

This is the result of multi tasking. Do not mix trying not to repack, simmering a redwine reduction for tonight’s pasta, making a homemade pizza for lunch, cleaning out the fridge, stamping cards and making the Final List, plus cleaning the basement laundry when I really should have been tidying the bedroom. dec1`-002

A beautiful crust, the last of the home made cheese, olives and mushrooms.. burnt to perfection. Though quite edible when one is hungry and unable to focus on the task at hand.

Even the sun decided not to bother yesterday  as we struggled through the hiatus day. The day before the day before. Too early to do the final pack, not too late to be cleaning out the fridge. dec1`-010

The farmy quietly went about its business. dec1`-018

What lovely fat sheep above all the ruckus in their north field.

Sheila was thrilled that the fridge was being cleaned out and everything that would have gone off while I am away was brought out for their lunch.  Poor Piggie, her mascara is running. dec1`-021

Daisy took the time to do some house work of her own and went into the pigs paddock to do some tidying up of their hay.  Her rather belligerent attitude is very apparent in this shot.

Not that  Sheila cares.  Though once Queenie joined her all hell broke loose as Charlotte loves Queenie and Queenie does not love Charlotte. I had to abandon the camera and separate them after I saw Charlotte herding the galloping Hereford round and round the field. Queenie was in quite a lather and Charlotte was laughing like a drain. Every time Queenie slowed down Charlotte leapt at her to keep her moving, barking like a dog, very naughty behaviour. Of course TonTon was not sure what to do so he ran after Charlotte, who was running after the cow, who was running away. They all pushed through their respective gates, got a telling off,  and were sent to their rooms, with the point of my finger, to think about their behaviour.

Good morning I hope you have a lovely day!  We have another warm one.

My last day on the farmy for over three weeks. Just a few more things then I am ready to go. I think. There comes a time when you have to lift your hands off and say – OK, I am done. It’s all yours now. That time is after milking this evening.

The first post as a travel blog will be early tomorrow morning, with a last long shot before we hit the road !

See you then.

    • I have been researching, there is quite a high standard out there of travel blogs! I need to think on it, there will be lots of time to think tomorrow getting from the prairies to the coast.. c

  1. Bon voyage! I’m off on a wee jaunt while you are away so we’ll both be travel bloggers together, mind you it will be a bloddy sight wamer where you are heading.
Loved the paragraph about Charlotte, Queenie, Ton Ton – superb writing !

  2. All this getting ready and rushing about. Your remark about cleaning the fridge reminded me of the time I cleaned ours, and my sister drank the pickle juice right before a long drive to the Grand Canyon… Glad Sheila is smarter than that! 😉
Do have a wonderful time! ~Lynda

  3. You’re going to miss all those animal antics! Best wishes for safe travel and enjoy every precious moment with your family.

  4. We made homemade pizza last night too, as part of our honey spinning party. Those supers have been waiting a long time to get spun out. What it takes is to invite enthusiastic friends over, feed them wine and homemade pizza and make it into an event! Very successful. We got about 40 lbs!
I am laughing out loud over the chaotic pigginess. Can’t wait to come along on your trip.

  5. Those galloping animals would make a wonderful children’s book–the cow, the pig, the dog, and you! All chasing…

    • I loved that book in fact it is almost time for me to read it again.. I wonder if you will feel the island list slightly when my luggage and I land next week! I fly in on a NZ Saturday. Leaving Cali on an American Thursday! c

  6. I found myself holding my breath while I read today’s post? Will Celi rescue the pizza? Will the Shush sisters help clean out the fridge? Will Daisy be happy with some one other than Miss C. at the helm? I find I am not the only one holding my breath. All at the Farmy have joined me. Will tomorrow ever come? Of course. In anticipation Bon Voyage. V.

    • Very funny farmy story today cinders and Bon Voyage!! We can’t wait to get going on this wonderful trip of yours!!
