White on White: Ponsonby House.

When first you land in Auckland, New Zealand, aack-009 or when you are weary of travelling and almost ready to go home – I have found the perfect place for you to lay your little head.aack-015

I am staying at Ponsonby House, Ponsonby, Auckland.  Quite delightfully Bernadette and Jonathon, my hosts, have read the blog too.  band-b-001So they were completely up to date on my wanderings and prepared a beautiful first class  room with a view of the  cool treetops.band-b-005

Staying there is a little like staying in a friend’s home, but with breakfast in bed. band-b-007

Fantastic attention to detail. I am very grateful for their care.

This morning I wandered down to the waterfront from Ponsonby, it is not a long walk at all and the weather is so gorgeous. band-b-022I watched a little cricket on the way. band-b-032

Made some new friends… band-b-033

And met some old friends down on the viaduct where all the fancy boats are moored. band-b-034

Another fantastic day in Auckland.  Though  back at the Farmy it is 22F (-5C),  a wee bit chilly and blowing evidently.  Our John is ready for me to come home.

One more dinner party  though ….  and it will be a goodie.  The next time I post I hope to  show you a real Kiwi garden. Deb is a wonderful gardener.

Have a lovely day. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

  1. What a lovely place to stay. You took great photos. I’m enjoying this trip we’ve taken. We have howling winds in Georgia. Brrr! Enjoy the party and safe travels home.

  2. Oh Celi, all of your wonderful travels in Kiwi Land and the photos and the weather just make me want to return to New Zealand!!! I’ve loved being there with you! No doubt that not only Our John is absolutely ready for you to come home! Without a doubt so are the Martriarch, the Tall Teenager, the Surrogate Milkers and all of the wonderful people in your US home!!! Not to mention the animals!!! Enjoy the rest of your time in beautiful NZ to the fullest!!! xo

  3. What a wonderful place to lay your head Celi. We are counting the hours until your return. I do believe the Farmy is holding its collective breath. Many Christmas hugs to you. V.

  4. The wind is whistling through the windows which are new, but still creaking to it’s harshness. I am quite envious of your weather, I long for the warmth of the sun without being beaten down by the cold wind. We had a light dusting of snow this morning, but it’s all but gone now. I can bet your John is missing you very much. Hope you have a good time at your next party.

  5. It doesn’t seem like it’s already time for us to go home! I swear there was some kind of time warp in the past couple of weeks. And I was studying that picture of the sidewalk to look for the cricket, since hadn’t scrolled down yet. Guess I’m sicker than I thought. Bleah.

  6. Now that’s the way to spend a day while on vacation. Strolling about, going where the mood draws you. Friends to meet? Great! Friends unavailable? Continue with your stroll. On such a beautiful day, in such a beautiful place, can it get any better?
The Great Blizzard stayed to our North and West. In the City, we got barely an inch of snow. It was gone by noon. Fingers still crossed fo a white Christmas.
