Sorry, did not mean to shout. SUN. Oops there I go again!
but we had the most perfect sunny windless day. Naturally I opened all the windows and doors and spent most of the day outside.
That is Tilly on the right, well you knew that, she is still into the panda eyes look. She is the most voracious lamb I have ever raised .. a real wild child!
Can we take the snow plow off now ChgJohn? Or is it too early to tell. Tui thinks No, she uses it as a step to get up onto the bonnet.
The rathouse paddock looks very calm as it waits for the grass seed to sprout.
This is another view we will not have for long, as soon as the trees leaf out The Coupe will be hidden. Perfect.
Did I tell you the date for the new bees has been changed to April 23. It has been too cold and the bees have not been breeding as fast as usual. So my little hives wait.
Daffodils in the last of the snow keeping cool and moist.
There is a hint of green in the lawn.
Good morning. Everyone came back home last night, so today we are back into fencing and picking up the last of the hay, Queenie and her crew are moving off the field into a smaller area North of the barn to wait for the grass to grow, so they get a new round bale.
If this warm trend continues we should be able to graze Pat’s paddock in about 5 weeks. This time of the season is so hard. Waiting for the fields to grow. I need 6 inches, then out comes the electric fence and they will begin their summer rotation. Their introduction to green grass is staggered to avoid any bloat. Don’t worry I will be careful. But I am getting ahead of myself, there is no green in the fields yet.!
Have a lovely day.
love celi
PS This time last year I was making Hot Chocolate and watching the stock eat grass. And after reading this post it looks like the grass this year is about a month behind. But it was already terribly windy and I am happy to miss out on three weeks of wind.

Ooooo still to cold to throw caution to the wind or rather throw the windows open, but soon – these easterly cold winds have to stop sometime…..sorry that should read HAVE TO
It’s Good Friday and I should be planting potatoes but it’s still way too cold,
Sun glorious Sun! Shout it out. Why not! Sun has been a rare commodity here, and after endless months of gray and rain we are actually going to have sun four days in a row Celi. It certainly changes ones attitude. One becomes more ambitious. Tedious jobs are happily accomplished. You never stop smiling. Farm dog – Mocha – has taken to laying on her back so the sun can warm her tummy. Summer, the Thoroughbred Princess, wants her blanket off. So shout out SUN glorious SUN. v.
Oh! You got an electric fence and fencer! Your life will get ever so much easier in the fencing department!
I love the green grass…I’m seeing more and more here!

i am happy to hear you finally got some sun! we are sunny and mild here today too!
I am so pleased for you that the sun is finally shining…
I love the photo of the plants pushing through the snow!
Today was BEAUTIFUL here as well! Threw caution to the wind and left the back door open so the cats and dogs could come as they pleased. Pricked out and potted u 26 Cabbages, 24 Broccoli and 24 Brussels in the green house, and planted a load of peas in the raised beds. Oh and put a second load of potatoes in as well. Oh how wonderful it is to have dirt under my fingernails again! Hope we both get to shout SUN every day from now on (oh except for the days where we need the rain LOL)
the rain shout! that is a good one too! c
So pleased the sun is smiling on you all, Celi!
I don’t blame you for shouting about the sun. I did the same thing when it showed up here this morning. Isn’t it wonderful? 🙂
Lovely sunshine. I would shout, too.
I can’t decide which was more welcome, the sun or the 50+ degrees. Having both was heaven!
Hey, you give Tilly a good old Australian name and expect her not to be voracious and wild 😉 !!
No apologies needed for the shouting. SUN indeed!
Tilly is SO adorable! I’m jealous of all the ‘green’ grass you have and those daffodils!!
Have a lovely Easter weekend, Celi!
Lucky you! you’ve have waited so long.
Just back from NZ where there is endless sunshine. 27C in Dunedin yesterday.
