Only two pictures today… because yesterday nothing topped the honey in Nefertiti’ s House..
and the Brood in Cleopatra’s.
These are hand held shots so the images are not brilliantly sharp at this magnification. But … wow. I could not resist. They had a tough spring with all the rain and storms and cool weather. So both colonies are still small but they are trucking along: Good Bees!
And that is all for today because all the other pictures paled in comparison!
Have a lovely, lovely day.

So much bad news about bees these days. Makes me smile to see yours flourishing.
How beautiful to see those busy little bees at work, and so close up. When the bees are happy, all is well in the world.
C’mon bees! I think we’ve all been rooting for the new hives, Celi, especially after the one hive’s rocky start. Now lets get them some warm, dry weather so that they can get some pollen!
Yay, a good news day! 🙂 This is something not often seen by most of us, and it is beautiful!
It’s good to see your bees are thriving, in spite of their bad start. Wonderful news!
What great shots! Miss A and Mr. N are both impressed you got that close. 🙂
So happy to see your bees doing so well after your disappointment over the winter. I started our first two hives in early May. I’m brand new at this and loving every second of it. Fascinating ladies they are. Love your hive names!
I am thrilled that you have bees too. I spend a lot of time watching them, that way I learn what is normal about their behaviour. Often there is no need to open the hive, just watching teaches us so much. At the moment they are just discovering the clover in the fields… it is wonderful.. c
My usual backtracking is in progress..
These are very cool shots.
I’m reading Honeybee, Lessons from an Accidental Beekeeper. Good I think for the novice or even pre-novice, like me. I like it except for a couple annoying typos:)
I’m thoughtfully considering bees next year.
