But the baby does not care…
Poor BooBoo.
No more laughing, it hurts to laugh. But every time I look at that shot this morning I laugh out loud.
Then look what Baby Marmalade did next …
Went to sleep in my sewing basket.. Poor BooBoo… Poor Sewing.
And as if our grey day yesterday was not grey enough, the man across the road is ploughing all the golden under, my landscape sinks into the sleepy sepia now. 
I spent a good part of yesterday back on the couch. Seeing to Kupa up in the loft has taken its toll. I will let him out today. I can not climb that ladder more than once more. He can take the second part of the worm program with the great unwashed and very common fowl.
We have two major pens and the chook house to clean out before the freeze and here I am still incapacitated. (Deeply frustrating) And the temps are due to plummet by Friday. It may be that the chooks will just get a couple of new bales of straw to lay on top of the debris. It is more important to get the hospital wing pen ready for Mama. Then we will see how much time I have left. My special cushion has arrived and it is a perfect fit on the tractor seat.
The Daily View is still missing it’s tree house. The barn is shut back up as it was due to rain last night. Soon it will be shut up for the winter. Sigh. Though, winter is not a surprise, it is not like I did not know it was coming.

i use wood chips in my poultry palace, just throw some corn loose on top, and they scratch and fluff up the chips, almost self cleaning because i slightly sloped the floor toward door
much easier to clean up than packed straw

That deep freeze will hit us Friday. Hopefully by the time it reaches your place, you will be able to get around better. Injuries are always inconvenient on a farm. uffda…(((hugs)))

I’m so sorry you are having to get up and about, still at the same time I know you are glad to have Kupa better. The huge storm they have been predicting is to arrive any second now. We are supposed to see 4 or more inches and the temperatures plummet to 7 or 3 or zero at night. I keep telling myself it is December so I know to expect it, but…I don’t have to like it. BUT after the storm if we can get sun that will help lots. We have not had sun for over a week. 😦

You have my heartfelt sympathy for the slow recovery. Bones are obnoxious things when they refuse to heal. Love yesterday and today’s Boo pics. Marmalade in the sewing basket? Tut tut. That looks like a nice collection of patchwork pieces!

That’s such a sweet picture. My dog is always lying on her back, grinning at me like that. And yes, I still make funny faces for my big babies — or rather funny-face competitions in front of mirrors with my grown-up (or not so grown-up) children. Also, with my granddaughter. We have a real family tradition for funny faces!
Overload of cuteness today. What a wonderful picture book you are making for us to enjoy. No box is too small for a cat. We, too, put wood chips down in the hen house. (not cedar, though). It is about a food deep…even in the next boxes. They love it! We are getting the cold temps today with this storm. Snow..maybe yes, maybe no. We sure need the moisture here. The north wind is icy.
You are on a tractor? Yeah, nobody else to do the work…at least you have your pillow. I will not tell you to take it easy, because I don’t think you know what that means. Just slow down when the pain increases, OK?

I think Boo and Marmalade are almost a children’s book. I keep saving photos here and there, as they are so perfect together, the blue and the orange. Wish I could come and help out too – maybe you could start a Farmy Intern program? I have no advice for a busted bottom – so far I’ve avoided that particular painful experience.
