The little internet man with the big truck mumbled as he climbed up our tower and ran new cables and new thingumebobs and muddled about in the basement and voila not only do I have internet again but it is Faster!
Excellent!
We have had a nicely busy few days.
Kim who is supposed to be having a farm stay vacation will not sit still and not only has she done her couple of hours of mandatory weeding but has almost finished building the little coop.

Tima has been invited to visit the local library tomorrow. They are having a summer programme with an animal theme. I will call today to say yes.
A vagabond Woofer called me and asked if she could come and work for a few days in exchange for a roof and some food and a little farm experience. I will write today to say Yes.
It rained on the vegetable gardens and I don’t even have any hay on the ground and I said YES. We are having quite a few little storms but nothing severe at all.
Today Queenie and Daisy begin their hormone shots to bring them into heat on the day my Lady Vet can come and breed them. Daisy is being bred to a Shorthorn bull. Now that we have Aunty Del I do not need to breed Daisy to a dairy cow ..
She is being crossed with a beef bull. Queenie is being bred to a Hereford of course. They have a shot this Thursday, next Thursday and then next Sunday morning.. breeding day.
Good morning. The meat chickens will be placed in the chicken tractor today and will begin to be pulled about the pasture gobbling up all that tasty clover. The tin they have their milk on (see above) is actually the roof of their rain shelter within the trailer they are living in now. I hope they are looking forward to getting out into the elements! We are firing on all cylinders!
I hope you have a lovely day. I am so glad to be back in touch again!
Your friend on the farmy,

Gosh, busier than ever. And Miss Timatanga Moana is going to be a local celebrity. She’s going to be in her element, the centre of attention….
What a busy, newsy post! I can feel the season gaining momentum. Full steam ahead!
Ah, life is good again now that the internet in back up and running. Good to hear about all the rumblings around the farmy.
busy times for you! well, every day seems that way. this time of year seems so filled with life though.
How wonderful to have the help of Kim and the Woofer! There is always, always something that needs doing! And soon you’ll have veggies galore coming from the garden! Isn’t it fabulous!!! 🙂
We had a woofer several years ago by accident – he had a couple of days spare. We needed some logs cutting and he volunteered but the chain on the saw snapped. It was beautifully hot and as he was a budding young artist, we sent him off to enjoy some painting instead. He returned later with several mixed media paintings and we still have one to this day. We call it our ‘Hutchinson’, waiting for the day when he may become famous!

P.S. The library users are going to LOVE Tima!

You actually put your name on the Woofer site, i will find it for you and the young people sign up to be a woofer, usually they are on farming holidays and come and work at your place for room and board. I don’t actually have the room set up for them yet so i had better get onto that! I need to get a bed!.. c

C, you have such a wonderful (“yes”) heart and soul.
What’s a vagabond woofer or rather who is … ?
Glad to have you back and to hear that all is humming along on the farmy. Wish we could get some of your rain.
Excellent and it would seem like they came and sorted out the problem quite promptly 🙂
They did and I am grateful, nothing like a little local company. c
We’d all miss you greatly if you’d were away for any length of time 🙂
Are those your beautifully planted fields?? What is growing within those incredibly straight lines? Gorgeous!!
These are John’s Uncles fields. Those are beans. They look particularly lovely after the rain.. c
The girls and I had so hoped to get up your way this week, but our week has gotten completely out-of-control. We’ll try again next week.
In the meantime, if you could share a little bit of that rain with those of us who are a little south and west of you, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m spending a lot of time watering the garden these days.
Oh no, ah well, hopefully your next week will work better!.. your pig is getting very big!.. c
C. What a wonderful, happy, upbeat post on all fronts! And I’m so glad you’re back…I just couldn’t quite get my days started or finished while you were away! 🙂 Tima will be the cutest librarian there ever was…you need to get her a pr. of those black thicked rimmed glasses! 🙂
Wow, Kim must be really handy! I’m wondering what is a woofer too. I think you mentioned them a while back.
Good morning Cecilia, from northern CA. Love your header this a.m. All that corn! Our garden is much smaller this year due to the drought. So no corn for us. Please send some rain showers our way. Glad your internet is back. It is strange just how much we need our connection. What fun for Tima to go to the library. She will be adored! I am enjoying hearing about your guests. Such a great ex-perience for both of you. Summer is officially just a few days away. A busy time, sunny days and preparing for that time called winter.
Love your beautiful pictures.
