Stoic

Difficult is the essence of stoic here – waiting for yesterdays rain to pass. difficult

This chook was also pretty stoic,  waiting patiently  in the pouring rain for the cow to move away from the boot of the car so she could take shelter.

But Lady Astor was not moving too fast, cows don’t move very fast as a rule.

TonTon gave me The Look when I suggested we take advantage of the downpour  -I told him I could add some shampoo to his filthiness and just give him a shower out in the rain.  So I did. Then I picked him up and threw him in the horse trough for a thorough rinse. Boo tried to escape but was given the same treatment, then everyone was cleaned up and sweet smelling – ready for dinner.

Except me – I am always last in for a shower.

The chook was still waiting.  I made the damp dogs Sit and Stay in a dry clean corner and dry quietly.  I  finished cleaning the milk room and fed the pigs and made their bed, then turned off the lights, called the dogs, closed the barn and went up to the house for my shower and dinner.   As I left I put my money on the cow. Lady Astor is the master of out-waiting and out-staring. She never blinks first. chicken still waiting

Though that is a very determined little red hen.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Love celi

  1. Maybe you should take a dip in the horse trough, too! 😉 That might be welcome on a hot summer day. Difficult has filled out some from what I remember. Love the stand-off between the chook and Lady.
