One Last Look

One last look about.

It does not look like a gale is blowing does it. But it was. At one point I had trouble actually walking forwards into the wind.

Mr Flowers.

I leave this morning, very early, for California. I will be feeding the animals in the dark. It will take the day to travel across this country. If all goes well I will arrive on the other side of America by night time.  I had better get busy fast so I don’t miss the first train that will take me to another train that will take me to the plane that will take me to another plane that will take me to my son.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Love celi

  1. Oh my, I’m never first in the lounge of comments! I’m discovering benefits to working overnight shifts at my new job. Mr. Flowers looks resplendent, doesn’t he? And the not-so-little piggies are growing fat. Good good. Safe travels and may you have a following wind, Celi!

  2. Celi, have a good trip to see your Family ~ enjoy, relax and have a glass off wine or two!!! See ya when ya return!!

  3. I hope your trains are more punctual than the one I took from Cleveland to South Bend. They pull off for every freight to pass. I thought it was the other way around, but not any longer. Safe travels and happy landings!

    • I am on the metra and there are few hold ups on this
Line. I hate Amtrak for that very reason and never ride on Amtrak if I have a plane to catch. The freight companies own the lines so the passenger trains are the poor cousins in that arrangement

  4. I hope everything will be well on The Farmy till you return & the winds aloft will carry you forward safely.

  5. And l hope that whichever train or plane you will be safe and really enjoy your visit with your son….love P

  6. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well on your travels to CA!!! You just never know how events will unfold when you embark on a journey these days. You must be prepared for anything and everything 🙂 Have a fabulous mini-vacation!!! xoxoxo

  7. I will be thinking of you today as I walk with the deer. You will be one of those many jets flying overhead… safe and comfy traveling to you!

  8. Safe journey! I hope you have a wonderful time with your so here in CA.

  9. Safe journey! I hope you have a wonderful time with your son here in CA.

  10. How wonderful to cross a continent in a few hours… We’ve become so accustomed to getting there quickly that we’ve almost forgotten the distance and the tremendous undertaking it used to be to make that journey. One of these days, we’ll hook up our little caravan and cross Australia, Slow Travel to allow us to enjoy and appreciate what we see… But if time is short and family is waiting, Quick Travel is definitely the way to go! We’ll be here when you get back 🙂

  11. Safe Journey!! I love to fly across the mid west and then the Rockies come into view, if it’s not too cloudy!

  12. Safe travels. The rain has stopped here, just in time for your visit – and spring is definitely in the air. I don’t know whether you’re going to be in Northern or Southern CA, but either way, you’ll have lovely displays of wildflowers if you get out into the hills. Especially in the South – still a little early here in the North. All this rain means seeds will be popping that haven’t for years. Enjoy!

  13. Elizabeth is right, you picked a great week to be in California. We’ve gone from a long, wet winter to 65-70 degree, sunny days. Some time when you’re out here, let us all know and we can meet you (and each other) for lunch.

  14. You talked about the winds so I was expecting some windy weather headed our way. You didn’t say THE W I N D S !!!!!!!

  15. Oh, the wind! We had two days of a constant gale — I can’t ever remember it blowing that strongly for so long, not just gusts. At one point, I looked out the window and saw a bucket (which I’d foolishly left on the front step) on its way out to the hay field. It’s a nice blue bucket, so I decided it had to be saved (it would have ended up miles away, I’m sure!). When I ran out to it, I had the wind at my back — whee! But it was SLOW going on the way back to the house.

    Enjoy California!!

  16. Two trains, two planes. Love of family. Safe travels. Mr. Flowers looks healthy, did you ever discover why his plummage was white?
