Fencing (and not the fun kind)

Today we are going to begin fencing in one of the wet hay fields so I can put the cows out there.  The ground out there is seldom totally dry.

We have a few days of seriously hard labour ahead of us.  Fencing then hay. I don’t mind – I need to build up some muscle in my arms.

Bobby Blue is a wild child. But has at last woken up enough to follow his mother in when she comes up to the barn. Though he runs four times the distance as his mother and I as we walk slowly through the fields and he runs around and around us – confounding the dogs.

He is seldom still. Though drinking well. Plus lady is milking for me really well too, the swelling in her udder is going down fast. I am pleased.

Alex. I have Possibly Alex written in the diary for June 02. We will see though.

Sheila is on one of the corner fields now. A lovely cool field for the summer as long as she does not dig up her trees.

Below is a random photograph Camera House took when I was working on it yesterday afternoon. I love these triangles but they are not only for show, I use them to hold the windows open.

If I can get a hold of the hay man I want to cut hay today. We have a week of dry weather ahead of us so let’s hope that works out.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Love celi

  1. Incredible that you will be haying. We just have new leaves on the trees and lots of buds left to open. It would be wonderful to have all that pent up energy of the Bobby. Good luck with the fencing and Possibly Alex June 2.
