For the last few days the household has had no internet. It is not a huge problem except that I could not make my blog and I could not chat to my children for free. The weather fell where it may. The young people read books out loud in the evenings. I missed out on a lot of news and things change very fast in this country nowadays. My woofer membership expired which is OK – no milking, no woofers next year. I am calling it my Gap year. So I left it expired.
The reason we had no internet? A mouse ate the rubber off the cable that runs through the basement wall. Now, that is a nice fixable problem, I said to the man.
It was Katelyns last day working yesterday. She is a delight and a very hard worker and I will miss her. So will Lady Astor she always milked the best with Katelyn as her morning handmaiden.
The little pigs will certainly miss her.
The Armadillo, the potbelly rescue pig recovering from third and in some areas fourth degree burns, decided to try and get out the door yesterday. It is what I call the popes door – a small door cut into the big door, I have no idea why I call it the popes door it has just always been the way. Anyway the door itself is about 12 inches off the ground – way too high for this fat little pig to climb over. Though he gave it a try and might eventually succeed. He is a determined wee fellow.
I have not put him on a serious diet yet, though Tima is, after breaking into the grain shed again, I think Wai needs to have a pretty good diet to help him grow new skin. So maybe in a month or so we will go to a slimming regime. Though it is just as hard for pigs to lose weight as it is for people.
We finished the next outdoor field for the little pigs. They are as happy as pigs can be which is pretty happy really.
The lack of internet also put both my shops (Amazon and Zazzle) on hold for a number of days so I am going to release my first newsletter a little later. Instead of on the first Monday of August we will jump to the third one. This will be the 14th. It is annoying, I hate to break a deadline. But this will allow us two things. I can load more images into Zazzle and you have more time to sign up. Mostly I am making greeting cards, cups, aprons, tote bags and working on the calendar. The Amazon button takes you to a section of Amazon with all my favorites. If you buy these through my Amazon Affiliate shop then the farm gets a small percentage of your purchase. This does not add to your total of course. The price is the same as anywhere else on Amazon .
The Sign Up button is up for you to try out and now YOU have more time to JOIN before the launch. (I still have a few things to tidy up in the sign-up box but it is in working order). Pop down and have a look.
Scroll down past the comments and there you will find the Kitchen’s Garden Letter JOIN button. All very easy. The newsletter will only come out to your email once a month, will be short and sweet, give you access to the shops and there will be NO pop-ups. I hate pop-ups.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Love celi

It was worth the wait – those photos are wonderful! I saw the button when I went back to your previous post – I’m signed up 🙂
Wai is looking so much livelier than before, and I love his grunge outfit 🙂
Love the photos of Katelyn with the pigs! Safe journey home. Wai eyes are getting bigger. 😁
Just signed up.
I can see Wai’s EYES! That’s so wonderful!
Those all look like such happy pigs, including Wai. Evidently Tima has explained the Great Escape game and he’s practicing 🙂
Piggies all looking fat and happy. Good to have you back online again. Off to sign up now 🙂 Laura
Oh, Wai wants to play with the big kids! At least you have some cooler weather today for working. It’s quite chilly here this morning in coastal Maine, which I love. Have a great day!
The question is, how to keep the mouse from dining on the new wire covering??? Glad to have you back online, and to see that all is well!!! xo
Love seeing Wai’s eyes. What a wonder he is–and you, too, for tending to him so lovingly. Just signed up for the newsletter!
Those pigs are charmers 🐽
Signed up ♡
I’m so happy you’re safe. My imagination was going crazy with possible farm accidents. (And, it seems I’ve become quite addicted to hearing the adventures of my favorite farm animals!)
I’m not the first person to comment on this, but what a joy to see Wai’s eyes! He can see! The kiss is priceless.
That’s great news that he is trying to escape- very pig like 😊
Have a wonderful day Miss C
Wai wants out so he can get in on the kisses. He might have to lose the jowls in order to be seen as smoochable, although the forlorn look works sometimes too.
It’s time to have a meeting with the cats! They need to patrol a bit better. Your photos are lovely. Harmony on the Farmy with the odd action shot in there. Hope you have a peaceful day.
awesome photos….such a lovely young woman! Have a trouble free day!
GREAT POST and AWESOME photos!
Yes! Moonwatcher is absolutely right! Where are the cats when you need them? Aren’t there 9 of them or 11? We won’t tolerate this interference!!
I am happy to see Wai’s eyes too, he must have lost a little weight to allow his eyes to open. Can he see? The piglets are growing fast, they are so adorable.
Miss Ceci – having some trouble signing up for the NEWSLETTER – just can’t comply with the final step for my e-addy. The final request doesn’t pop up. I’ll wait a few days and try again. Suggestions?
Your ‘Internet Story’ has given me the creeps! I could write the proverbial book on the incongruities of the Australian Internet system at this time which has left me ‘without’ such about 1/3 of the period during the last four months !! And in this neck of the woods I depend on it. Now you talk of mice chewing 😦 !!! cables . . . . as it happens we are having a field mouse + huge rat winter problem here at the moment . . . . my monthly shopping having arrived a few days back, have last night just lost my whole avocado order to big bites on all fruit and right around each piece : a throw-in-the-bin affair! Sugar, hope they are happy with the avos and won’t look for rubber-coated cables !!!
Stumbled by – love the pictures! They have so much soul and made me smile. I have a rabbit that chews cable….a bit bigger than a mouse and a critter I love to keep around – despite his affinity for cables. And so the few days of respite make for a nice time for reflection.
Hey Celi .. Wai seems to be looking better! All that hard work of yours. Love the shots of Katelyn with the pigs 🙂 I too have signed up.
The mouse ate your internet and the vacuum killed my computer. We have been having quite a time of it these last few days. I’m on a loaner for a bit but nothing really works well yet. Loved seeing everything finally today. So happy..
Ohhhhh, look at those eyes of Wai’s! How great to see him with big opened eyes. And he did look quite determined/disgruntled 🙂 trying to get over that obstacle of a door. He is looking good though, so happy to see him making progress.
And that’s a great close-up of Katelyn and the pig!
So relieved that the problem was your internet being disrupted. I was really worried. Great pics as always, especially of Kaitlyn and the piglets. Going to sign up now.
The photos encapsulated each emotion in time; very endearing. I just started a blog here as well. check it out and let me know what you think! 🙂
