After I had dropped the last visitors for this year at the railway station, I arrived home to find Molly in the midst of another breakout.
So I led her across to the newly repaired field beside Poppy and Sheila and left her in there. She will be annoyed for a few days but it is way past time to wean her from her fat ungrateful children. I hope she does not escape, I am not sure I have the strength to fix another fence.
You can see in the picture below the setup. There is still an electric fence between them for a week or so until they are used to each other.
Molly is in the far left of this shot. She will sleep in the calf-hut until they are all put together. In a couple of weeks, I will pull Poppy out and take her to the boar.
That is about all I can manage for today. I feel emotionally shot and lack publishable words at the moment. I am quite ready to go home.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Love celi

The Great Escape always makes for good reading, but I can appreciate how tiresome it all gets.
So far so good!!
Ha ha – that’s no fun for us!
Oh Ms Molly – you a naughty Girl!!! You need to let Mama Celi get some rest!! Bet you’re getting the “countdown” fever Celi!! Have a better day!!
Good so far – yes
Oh Dear … soon soon. Laura
exactly…
Rest for a day. The animals will survive and you will feel better.
No rest for the wicked.. c
Thinking of you. I wondered since there weren’t may posts if things were challenging. I hope the next weeks til you leave go easily.
So do I – not holding too much hope though – things are building up
Keep focused on your travels. Somehow we manage to muddle through the challenges, but it helps to have good weather and agreeable critters to get by on. Naps help, if you can slip one in every so often! Yesterday I took the buggy out and promptly dozed off while sitting in a sunny spot along the slough. I did not manage any wildlife photos, but that power nap did me a world of good!
The thought of you sleeping in the sun is just lovely
Yes, emotional happenings can definitely wear us right out! I have been listening to a free’Yoga Off the Mat Summit” hosted by Urska Umek, which has been very helpful to me. There are daily interviews including short wonderful meditations. The summit is for ‘cultivating peace of mind, tapping into inner stillness and cultivating joy and gratitude in any circumstance.’ I have tried to copy the link here, but have not been able make it work. I’ll try emailing it. So excited about your trip home! It will be wonderful!!! xo
I saw it inn the email – thank you- yes i do my yoga every morning before starting the day and it is good
Celi, I have been worrying about you & your family & Farmy beasts & hoping there is not a crisis coming. (I have been in a such a dreadful place myself.) I hope you can avert it with your pending trip to your beloved native home & blood relations, that it will be the balm your spirit seems to desperately need. We, your faithful readers, love you from afar & send our very best wishes & thoughts to you & all of those who surround, need, yet drain you right now. May the cold winter winds & the New Year bring Help, healing, renewal & sustaining love to you & all who care for & need you. (Now I must head over for another “Pig Art” apron on this cyber Monday!)
What a lovely message – I must order another apron too! The pig art one is popular!
I couldn’t say it any better than jmcheney! We all love you and wish you the rekindling of your indomitable spirit
a very ‘domitable spirit at the moment
I have a new “three r’s”, yoga mantra for you…
Rest, relax, rejuvenate
Soooon; )
Sometimes a rest on the sofa with a good book helps BUNCHES!!!
yes – those days will come soon!
I hope so…a wee hour in a book can give such a nice little break!
Wellington’s waiting for you. See you soon.
I hope so!!
Bugger. We do what we do how we do it, and it’s fine. But adding just one more thing can tip it. Personally, I’ve had a great but busy year, and when my Horticulture course finshes this week I will be glad to have a couple of months break with one less thing on my agenda. Even though it usually seems to get crazier leading up to it, a break awaits you also. Take care ♡
I will definitely take good care..
Yep agree with the others, try to focus on your trip, something to look forward to.
it’s time for some R and R….vacation time soon? Take care!
Tough times. I have heard they can make us wiser, even though it doesnt seem so at the time. Dont think I have got there yet (the wisdom place), so am relying on others’ words about that. Hope you can too.
I hear you- good advice to hold my course to
NZ is warming up nicely…should be perfect by the time you get here x
Let’s hope so!!
