Weaned

After I had dropped the last visitors for this year at the railway station, I arrived home to find Molly in the midst of another breakout. 1-009

So I led her across to the newly repaired field beside Poppy and Sheila and left her in there. She will be annoyed for a few days but it is way past time to wean her from her fat ungrateful children.  I hope she does not escape, I am not sure I have the strength to fix another fence.

You can see in the picture below the setup.  There is still an electric fence between them for a week or so until they are used to each other.

Molly is in the far left of this shot. She will sleep in the calf-hut until they are all put together.  In a couple of weeks, I will pull Poppy out and take her to the boar.

That is about all I can manage for today.  I feel emotionally shot and lack publishable words at the moment.  I am quite ready to go home.

I hope you have a lovely day.

  1. Tough times. I have heard they can make us wiser, even though it doesnt seem so at the time. Dont think I have got there yet (the wisdom place), so am relying on others’ words about that. Hope you can too.
