I don’t think so though. Even though snow flurries are in the forecast it is more likely to be a cold drizzle. Though the temps are going to hover around above freezing for the next few days. (And below freezing on Friday). So maybe it will be a bit of snow. But as the locals say – it won’t stick. I had hoped for some warm weather here before leaving for the Southern Hemisphere where it has begun to cool down again. So much for that idea!! 😂🤭.
Mr Flowers is patiently waiting for spring. This overcast, windy, cold weather suits him not at all. The wind blows his tail around and he finds it hard to keep his balance.
FreeBee had lots of good feeds yesterday from the restaurant buckets. In fact they all did. Even the cows, who love capsicums and melons. Maybe next week it will warm up for them.
Tima needs very little extra feeding – she is a scrounger and does very well for herself. Fat pig.
Quacker is quacking along. Unlike Mr Flowers she is delighted with the wet weather.
All seems well.
Wet but well. This cold cannot last. Though I fear we are in for a wet summer. And I am leaving the cows in the field with the big pigs until I get back. I want to give those two other fields a good beginning. Try and smother some thistle growth.

Oh dear – sometimes it snows in April …even here! Though it’s looking unlikely this year.
We will get dumped on up here in the northeast and my garlic is up 😦

We’re expecting a couple of inches. An April Fool joke.

It’s chilly here, 54* today, but we are in for a warm up and spring is coming for sure! All the summer veggies in the greenhouse are big and really wanting to be planted ASAP. So they will be going to their new homes starting this weekend. And all the spring brassicas, onions and garlic already in the garden are doing great. Absolutely can’t wait to be eating everything! 🙂
PS: Just ate our first raw fresh asparagus spears of the season!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Huh!! I will jog down the back to check on mine! I fear I will miss the whole season though.
I’m thinking it has been too cold for your asparagus garden up there. I was very surprised to see them popping up this early! Hopefully you’ll still be getting some by the time you return to the Farmy. 🙂

I hope you don’t get a wet summer. It was really wet here last year in the UK. And when I went to Greece in mid-May, it rained there too! Spring feels like it’s on the way but there’s still a chill in the air.

It’s beautiful! We hiked the entire island of Corfu from one end to the other. A magical trip.

Ducks like the wet! I’m hoping for a wet summer due to wildfire risk and our low snowpack in the mountains. Perhaps I’m part duck?

/A miserable day here in southern Indiana. 40’s all day, overcast, gusty winds, showers off and on sometimes rain and sometimes what I call thick rain (just before it turns into sleet). Standing at the gas pumps this morning with the wind blowing into my face it felt much more like February 3rd than April 3rd!

If you get a wet summer then our summer following in the southern hemisphere will be wet which figures cos this summer we’ve just left was dryish as far as summers go. We’re apparently about to get a dump of autumn rain, and cooler temps for a day or so but trending downwards. We’re also changing back from daylight savings to regular time so at least your Melbourne mornings will be light.
I can’t wait!! Just changing the deep cold clothes in the suitcase for light cold!😂 Layers work!!
I’m ready for a dry winter. It’s been a very hot, very wet summer here, and although the temps are dropping slowly, the rain continues unabated. We’re getting the top edge of what Dale’s getting over the next few days. I’ll be paddling out in gumboots to let the chooks out into their tractor in the uphill parts of the back yard.
Don’t we love our gumboots!!!
Yes, we have very close personal relationships with them, especially in summer when we have to check them first for spiders!
Just the idea makes my skin crawl.
Thing is, I wear my gumboots on bare feet. Not a problem with socks!
As my husband always says, “Don’t take off the snow tires until we’ve had April snow.” He’s right. It happens every year.
