A sleepy Sunday on the farmy for everyone but the farmers!
How come they all get to doze while we rush about with wheelbarrows and fence posts.
Life is good for little Queenie.
At least, with Daisy, we have a date as to when she is due to calve, or at least a week. In Late May. We will not have to deal with this guess work that we are having with you know who, who is walking like a cowboy because of her you know what. I promise you next year Hairy MacLairy is wearing a harness with chalk in it so we know when they snuck off . No guess work next year.
But Daisy is looking beautifully round!
OI! What are you doing in here.
What?
What are you doing in the garage? And what are you doing standing on top of the Convertible! That is Our John’s prized Chrysler 66.
What? Tock. Tock. Are you talking to me?
Yes I am talking to you. You naughty peacock. Now, Kupa, stop that immediately and get off that car and get back to the barn. Peacocks do not belong in garages. Garages are ugly.
Whaaa? Tock. Tock.
This is a garage. For cars. And cars are not for peacocks. Back to the barn NOW Duke of Kupa or you are going to be in big trouble if John finds you on his car.
Duke or not you are going straight to bed.
Tock. Tock. Telling John!
Kupa! BED!
Good morning. Luckily TonTon has a lot of practise herding birds so we were able to gently move Kupa back to his pen before he was discovered gallivanting about on top of The Special car! I am going to have to start shutting garage doors. He is a nosy peacock.
However the new internal fence was finished. The new gate was put in. Well, new old, Johns found it at a friends place. This is a lovely heavy gate and good for viewing from.
When people come to visit they like to lean and watch the large animals graze. Or sleep. Not the visitors the animals. This is such an awkward shot of Mama with Hairy through the fence behind her. But the gate is great! Daisy cannot undo this latch.
Good morning. Today, with the tractor, TonTon and I will be hauling away the manure piles and turning compost down the back. All this compost is for next spring. We let manure break down for a year.
Have a great morning.. …

It all sounds good down on the farm…..gorgeous day!
Morning debra, yes yesterday was beautiful and it looks like we have another lovely day today.. the wind is hanging in there tho.. it seems determined to reach gale force each day.. c
When I worked on a sheep farm, the two rams wore the crayon harnesses. It took me a long time to figure out what was going on.
It seemed a bit extreme to me with only one ram, but I have given in! That is if we can find one big enough for him!! c
All is well and and good on the farmy…love the new fences and gates.
The asparagus came up yesterday, by the way…life is Peaches and Cream!
It’ll be Asparagus and Hollandaise next year…
Have a great day, C!
Asparagus is always such a good doer! I must pop over and see what you are doing today!! c
Aahh, come on Celi. That’s a duke you’ve got there, he needs a special car!
Christine
WAAA! Silly me! c
A tip of the cap to farmers as you have the best work ethic!
Morning Frank.. tipping the cap straight back! c
Kupa is training to be the leader of the animals on the farmy. And he certainly looks the part.

Oh Celi, I wish we could be preparing compost for next year now! We have used every scrap of compost that has been breaking down since about last Oct. in our raised beds! Compost is like gold, as you well know. Ours hasn’t completely broken down, but will have to do. Remember, we are in the Ozark Mountains, and soil is scarce commodity around here! I guess we need the large animals too! We are thinking about it! xo
I know this sounds quite bonkers but the manure was one of the reasons i go a cow! True! However because the compost has manure in it we have make sure it is really broken down.. Soil being scarce sounds wild, this property has some of the best soil i have ever worked with in the world.. an old swamp! c
That is a serious gate! Glad Kupa is finding his feet and a passion for fancy motor cars, seems fitting after all, I guess! 🙂
sure does!! c
A nice sleep day on the farmy sounds good to me. 🙂
I’ll just bet you were Horrified to see Kupa on the car…Terry would have been MAD and (I would have been horrified and have to hurry him off). Great car, by the way!!!

exactly.. my thoughts exactly.. get him off before we are both sprung!! morning linda c
Looks like Kupa has settled right in and made himself at home! 🙂
Looks like you are set for a beautiful day! Look at that Kupa, making himself right at home :).
I have to admit that I’d get a cow just for the manure. For now we gave the chickens, who pull their weight with manure alone- the eggs are gravy. Wouldn’t it be nice to be so well loved just for doing what nature intended! Krupa is so photogenic- I love seeing what he gets up to.
He was just discovered on my lawn eyeing up the verandah rails.. won’t be long!! c
How quickly the Duke of Kupa went from being a lovely bird with a title to a nosy peacock! It seems he has the confidence to explore now.
You may have to get a chauffeur for Kupa!
