This is the result of multi tasking. Do not mix trying not to repack, simmering a redwine reduction for tonight’s pasta, making a homemade pizza for lunch, cleaning out the fridge, stamping cards and making the Final List, plus cleaning the basement laundry when I really should have been tidying the bedroom.
A beautiful crust, the last of the home made cheese, olives and mushrooms.. burnt to perfection. Though quite edible when one is hungry and unable to focus on the task at hand.
Even the sun decided not to bother yesterday as we struggled through the hiatus day. The day before the day before. Too early to do the final pack, not too late to be cleaning out the fridge.
The farmy quietly went about its business.
What lovely fat sheep above all the ruckus in their north field.

Sheila was thrilled that the fridge was being cleaned out and everything that would have gone off while I am away was brought out for their lunch. Poor Piggie, her mascara is running.
Daisy took the time to do some house work of her own and went into the pigs paddock to do some tidying up of their hay. Her rather belligerent attitude is very apparent in this shot.

Not that Sheila cares. Though once Queenie joined her all hell broke loose as Charlotte loves Queenie and Queenie does not love Charlotte. I had to abandon the camera and separate them after I saw Charlotte herding the galloping Hereford round and round the field. Queenie was in quite a lather and Charlotte was laughing like a drain. Every time Queenie slowed down Charlotte leapt at her to keep her moving, barking like a dog, very naughty behaviour. Of course TonTon was not sure what to do so he ran after Charlotte, who was running after the cow, who was running away. They all pushed through their respective gates, got a telling off, and were sent to their rooms, with the point of my finger, to think about their behaviour.
Good morning I hope you have a lovely day! We have another warm one.
My last day on the farmy for over three weeks. Just a few more things then I am ready to go. I think. There comes a time when you have to lift your hands off and say – OK, I am done. It’s all yours now. That time is after milking this evening.
The first post as a travel blog will be early tomorrow morning, with a last long shot before we hit the road !
See you then.

Your final farm photos are lovely. And yes, multi-tasking can be dangerous. Lucky for me, I reorganized my pantry BEFORE preparing breakfast today.
sensible girl. bet you found all kinds of good stuff.. c
A little crispy cheese on top a pizza is good for you. I oughta know. I have it that way far more times than I care to admit.
Nice that the animals staged a little marathon for you before your departure, just to let you know they’ll be well.
Have a peaceful night, Celi, and if I miss you before you leave tomorrow, have a safe trip & enjoy this time with your family.
Buon viaggio!
I just weighed my suitcase AGAIN.. so far so good! I will on my way to california before we know it!! c
Travel’in Mercies
Have a safe and great time! 🙂
Have a great trip!!! 😀
I love reading your accounts of the various personalities you live with. I always multi-task, but I try and keep it to 2 or 3 tasks at once and any that are critical (like cooking) are always the main focus. I get side tracked quite easily so if I don’t keep cooking on the forefront, burning is very easy to do. That’s why timers are excellent.
TonTon & Queenie & Sheila’s antics made me laugh, and brought back a vague memory of a Mother Goose story – so I googled it, and here it is: http://www3.amherst.edu/~rjyanco94/literature/mothergoose/rhymes/thisisthehousethatjackbuilt.html
Wishing you a wonderful journey! Looking forward to your posts from your travels. 🙂
Charlotte is such a naughty pig — and has such a good time. Hmm. Reminds me of a certain someone who bit a man on a plane. Keep your fangs to yourself and have a lovely trip to California where the sun is shining again at the moment after days of serious amounts of rain.
trust you to remember the biting incident! .. looking forward to the sun though it is still very warm here today!! c
Down to the wire eh, Celi – the whole North Island is bracing itself for your exuberant and joyful return to the land of your fathers!.
I’m sure we’ll all feel the difference in the energy of the place when you land…XXX
probably a tilt to the east!! I tried not to overpack!! really hope we can meet up!! c
Safe travels and Happy Trails! Love the piggies and the cow.
Safe travels!
Ah how I love your animal pictures and tales! May your travels be safe and wonderful. I am looking forward to your travel blog and seeing your journey through your words.
Those pigs!
That’s a very sad pizza, but I bet the pigs would thank you for it 🙂
Apparently the animals know something is up and were just trying to get your last minute attention. Sweet sojourns.
Enjoy and I look forward to tomorrow…
