Now, what is going to happen today?!

Tomorrow if you have time to  come and visit me.

morning-004

You might see more of these pictures.

morning-006

Then we will know that Plan A has failed, I am still on the farm and Plan B is being trundled out into the drive. That’s OK though. Plan B is not too terrible but it would include missing my sons wedding.  But no lives are threatened. No pain sits under our skins.  No life would be irrevocably changed if my new passport, being rushed back from the UK, does not arrive on time. Plan B would be OK too.

morning-007

However if Lady Luck, who is not always a Lady, has smiled on me…

morning-009

… you will see pictures of planes and travel, and a shiny passport, and I will see the smiling faces of my sons and their lovely ladies.

morning-015

You will smell crisp mountain air with me.

morning-019

and see ski lodges and the hear the purr of bubbles against the glass.  You might remember your last wedding…

morning-021

and go to check to make sure your passport is current.

morning-026

We shall see won’t we.  At noon I am going to optimistically climb on the airport bus with my little bags and travel the two hours to the airport where I will wait to see if the passport has arrived. If it doesn’t turn up then I will call the Darling Travel Agent, change the tickets again and catch the next bus back to the farm.

But, if my Good Friend (don’t tell him I put in his link, as he would rather not have the fuss, but his food is as fine as his kindness) does find The Package containing my new passport loitering with intent  at the Couriers office, he is going to rush it across town to where I will be waiting on the airport bench outside Departures surrounded in plans and tender tenterhooks and if I make the plane bound for Calgary at 6.30 pm then you will hear the shouts of relief and delight from your place.

We will see, won’t we.  I will try to send you an update in the evening but (shh  – whisper this) I might be in the Air! How do planes stay up there in the sky anyway, being a bear of little brain I think it must be magic too.

And I have a question, I will have my Kindle with me.  What book should I read while I am waiting? What have you read lately? I have read everything on the last list we made. It is time to make another!  If I get away I will be away a week. I bet I get some reading time!

Have a lovely day.

I hope Plan A works today. You have all been so wonderful, your comments have quite literally got me through this ridiculous mess I got myself into.

And as you know. You can’t go Over it. You can’t go Under it. You have to go Through it.  (This quote is from a book I used to read to my children called The Bear Hunt – it has become the Family Line.)

Now I am going to get farming, then wash my hair and Prepare for whatever the universe sends me today. Thank you Magical Fellowship of the Farmy.  You are my stars.

your friend, celi

  1. I see no evidence of nervous breakdown yet. So far, so good. Everything is still crossed for you. I love those piggy pix – and I have stolen the one of Boo’s and your shadows in the folorn hope that I may be inspired to write a haiga on it. Life is still confused, but we’ll know more on Monday afternoon. I hope by that time you are getting over a wedding hangover and enjoying hanging out with your kin.
    Love,
    ViV

  2. All the best, Celi!! You are wise to be prepared for all sorts of possibilities. What matters most is your heart of gold. No explaining necessary to those you care about. My offer still stands should you have the opportunity to pass by here!

  3. The piglet pictures are great but next we definitely want to see a photo of the passport and your loving family and smell the mountain air: Celi, you will make it . . . I have a bottle of wine ready in the fridge, and the neighbours will come running when the laughing and clapping starts in my home . . . A book . . . can’t think of one appropriate, methinks you have enough material to write one next . . .

  4. Celi, say a prayer to St. Jude and St Rita, the Patrons of hopeless cases. A prayer to St. Anthony wouldn’t hurt in case it has been lost. I am praying for you!

    • My confirmation name is Jude. When I was thinking of being a nun (don’t laugh) I was to be Sister Jude .. he is my favourite saint. Thank you peggy. c

    • Saint Christopher is the Patron Saint for Travellers, why didn’t I think of him earlier 😦 Laura

  5. Oh, Celi! I can see I have missed a lot of what’s going on the farmy lately, being at the beach with such a poor Internet connection…
I hope the passport arrives on time and that you could be with your son on his wedding.
As for books suggestions, I’m reading les miserables and it is endless! So, one week won’t be enough…I’m also reading life of Pi and is very good.
Enjoy your time away! My fingers are crossed for plan A 😉

  6. i hope plan a works out. i am reading gaias garden by toby hemenway. the title is odd but the book is amazing and packed with good thoughts about gardens and ecosystems – permaculture at its best. http://www.patternliteracy.com/books/gaias-garden
