A wee dollop of sweetness

Marmalade was a busy little kitten yesterday.

He is a natural performer. And with all the animals I had to show the children yesterday, this wee kitten was the one who pocketed hearts in all directions.

Later, Sunday being Sunday, the dogs and I went for a long walk.

Then it being Sunday still,  there was napping in front of the fire.

Eventually.

Didn’t that look for all the world like the end bit of a rugby match when both teams lineup and with incredibly bad grace shake hands.  “Yeah right mate, I’ll shake your hand but I’ll see you in hell before I like it.”

A moulting chicken, looking like my grandmothers 50 year old well worn Axminster carpet. Someone plucked the felt out of the Feltex. Not pretty. Moulting chooks are never comfortable, they scuttle more and develop furtive chilly expressions. It will be over soon little chook,  your winter coat is growing – off you go to bed.

I hope you all have a lovely day.

  1. Well I am so glad that the wretched thunderstorms around us all morning seem to have departed for Sydney and I could actually start my day with a huge, huge dollop of sweetness also! Guess which photo will say ‘hello’ to me on my computer when I click on from today: that first one, of course! And the day looked picture perfect and all three dogs were obviously enjoying the walk . . .Absolutely luvverly . . . [off topic ‘laugh’ ~ flood warnings have just been issued for four rivers in the middle of last month’s ftre crisis: NOT joking – and my two no longer figure on the ‘fire board’ – knew I could unpack :D!!! Viva Australia!!!!]

  2. Looks like a glorious Sunday. I laughed at the sheep filing out and the pigs in, and the nose touch. The dogs look like they enjoy their walk and recreation time – well, it is Sunday for everyone to enjoy. What a success story is Marmalade Cat, he’s a star thanks to you and Nanny Boo 🙂

  3. I laughed at your description of the moulting chicken, losing the felt out of the feltex. Poor things. Nature has an awkward way of doing things sometimes. Marmalade is very photogenic. I guess there’s always one animal who tops the poll in the photo shoot.

  4. The two pictures just before Marmalade and Boo napping on the rug just capture it all – can hear the wind. (It is time for bright clothing as you walk)
Old Dog in his coat. Sigh. May we be granted with his presence a bit longer. Somehow I have a soft spot for him. He does appreciate his spot on the farmy and the touches of kindness.
Lovely post – reminds me of many Sundays long ago.
