I grew up on a beach in New Zealand and I live on a farm in Illinois.
But I love the city.
I LOVED New York City even if I was only there for 24 hours.
Loved it.
I hope you have a lovely day.
All is well on the farm – lots to do today. Miranda has left us but Alex is still here to help for a few more weeks.

I love a city to visit, but I love to come home even more… For me, it’s like a constant diet of chocolate ice cream; delicious, but you can’t live on it. Vanilla for everday, chocolate for special occasions!
I think I’d love New York city too. But not sure I could ever live there. 24 hours feels just right some days, and some others I’d like to stay for a few weeks.
I would love to go for a visit so much to see.
I’m back to, from Brazil! It was wonderful! It is important to get off the farm once in a while!!! Glad you had a fabulous whirlwind trip to NYC! It is a fun city! xo
How you gonna keep ’em
Down on the farm
After they’ve seen NYC?
Good to see you back on the farmy, as always. Mollys piggies are huge. I think I might want more than 24 hrs to explore NYC. Laura
I grew up on a sleepy beach in Southern California, now I live in Kentucky, France 🙂 and I love it.
New York, New York! It’s a Wonderful Town! I know you’ll go back. Meanwhile Chicago, so nearby, is quite a Toddlin’ Town!
Hope the family meeting went well and so glad you enjoyed NYC. Been there a couple of times many many years ago. Never had the chance to enjoy the flavor of it. Love that we can have the contrast between the city and the country life. It stimulates all the parts of our brains. Have a wonderfilled Memorial Day.
Welcome back… so glad to see your posting this morning. My emotions are more like Kate’s…. too much chocolate. I live in the big city now, where I was born and grew up, returning after so many years of country life. And I’d give my eye teeth, if only I had them… lol… to be once again in the country. The piggies grow so fast, don’t they, and looking great… as do your cows also. Hope you have a lovely day too. ~ Mame 🙂
Home is where the heart is- but I do know how you feel about cities- I love New York- but always good to get back to the silence in the country.
I am so glad you had a wonderful time and are back safe. For me, too, New York is always a fabulous shot in the arm. xx
I’m so glad you’re home safely and with lovely memories in your mind! Missed you!
I sure hope you accomplished what needed to get done in NYC, I cannot imagine being there for only 24 hours!
Lady Astor seems to be voicing her opinion about your absence. Hope all went well.
I love my small country town life, but could easily live in a big city…….inner city living rather than out in the ‘burbs on the edge. I spent a few weeks in NY on my big back packing trip across the US a few years ago, staying in a backpackers just around the corner from Times Square…….absolutely loved it. And when my daughter first settled in the States she lived in San Francisco, in the heart of North Beach, then the Mission. I loved that you could step out the front door and the world was out there. Glad you had a a good time.
I grew up in a small town in country Victoria, but, like you love the city. I’m city through and through . Melbourne is home for me.
Stepping out and then back into our lives is a great thing to do, sort of like pushing the reset button ♡
‘I like New York in June, how about you,
I like a Gershwin tune, how about you’
With my birthday in a matter of sleeps away I envy you your trip to The Big Apple; for me it means theatre every night and the wonderful restaurant circle – been awhile!!! Hope all went well 😉 !
Really Eha, mine too 🙂 Laura
So glad you had fun!
