For days now the weather people have been warning us that heat is coming. Well, I guess it is here for a few days. It gets really hot tomorrow. But it is not the heat that is uncomfortable it is the humidity.

Galician Cornbread
Galician Cornbread is called Boroña. It is an old Spanish country bread that I have only just discovered. This is a variation of one of the Boroña recipes. It bakes up beautifully and the dough was a real pleasure to work with.

SLEEP
Thunder is tumbling around endlessly this morning as I write. It is hot and still. More noise than storm as it rolls on out.

HUSH PUPPIES ARE NOT SHOES!
I thought they were but no – they are little deep fried balls of loveliness that I forbid myself to cook too often!

AT LAST
The tractor – a little organic one – arrived in our big 160 acre field and tilled the cover crop of weeds in. Just ahead of a little rain too.
